Beside the other attributions which are expressly conferred on it by other provisions of the Constitution, the Constitutional Court decides by an decision on the constitutionality of the treaties, the laws and the regulations.
The Constitutional Court may be referred to [the matter] of the constitutionality of the treaties before their ratification, and of the laws before their promulgation.

- EnglishThe treaties of Peace, of union, the treaties of commerce, the treaties or agreements concerning the international organization, those which engage the finances of the State, those which modify the provisions of a legislative nature, those that concern the status of the persons, and the treaties concerning the frontiers of the State, may only be ratified by virtue of a law.
They only take effect after being ratified or approved.

The treaties or agreements regularly ratified have, on their publication, an authority superior to that of the laws under reserve, for each agreement or treaty, to its application by the other party and of its conformity with the relevant provisions of the law of treaties.

Les traités ou accords régulièrement ratifiés ont, dès leur publication, une autorité supérieure à celle des lois sous réserve, pour chaque accord ou traité, de son application par l'autre partie et de sa conformité avec les dispositions pertinentes du droit des traités.
Sans préjudice du paragraphe précédent, la ratification ou l'approbation d'un engagement international comportant une clause contraire aux dispositions pertinentes de la Constitution ne peut intervenir que postérieurement à la révision de celle-ci. (Art. 70)
