Paragraph 2. Final decisions on merits, pronounced by the Supreme Federal Court, in direct actions of unconstitutionality and declaratory actions of constitutionality shall have force against all, as well as a binding effect, as regards the other bodies of the Judicial Power and the governmental entities and entities owned by the Federal Government, in the federal, state, and local levels.

Status of International Law
- English1. Norms that contravene the provisions of the Constitution or the principles enshrined therein are unconstitutional.
2. On condition that the norms in question are applied in the legal order of the other party, the organic or formal unconstitutionality of properly ratified international treaties does not prevent the application of the norms they contain in the Portuguese legal order, save if that unconstitutionality results from the breach of a fundamental provision of the Constitution. (Art. 277) - Portuguese1. São inconstitucionais as normas que infrinjam o disposto na Constituição ou os princípios nela consignados.
2. A inconstitucionalidade orgânica ou formal de tratados internacionais regularmente ratificados não impede a aplicação das suas normas na ordem jurídica portuguesa, desde que tais normas sejam aplicadas na ordem jurídica da outra parte, salvo se tal inconstitucionalidade resultar de violação de uma disposição fundamental. Status of International Law
- English1. Fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution do not negate other rights foreseen by the laws of the Republic and applicable rules of international law.
2. Constitutional and legal principles relating to fundamental rights have to be interpreted in harmony with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. (Art. 29) - Portuguese1 - Os direitos fundamentais consagrados na Constituição não excluem quaisquer outros constantes das demais leis da República e das regras aplicáveis de direito internacional.
2 - Os preceitos constitucionais e legais relativos aos direitos fundamentais devem ser interpretados de harmonia com a Declaração Universal dos Direitos do Homem. (Art. 29)
Status of International Law
- English1. General or common international law received under the terms of this Constitution shall form an integral part of the Angolan legal system.
2. Duly approved or ratified international treaties and agreements shall come into force in the Angolan legal system after they have been officially published and have entered into force in the international legal system, for as long as they are internationally binding upon the Angolan state. 2. Os tratados e acordos internacionais regularmente aprovados ou ratificados vigoram na ordem jurídica angolana após a sua publicação oficial e entrada em vigor na ordem jurídica internacional e enquanto vincularem internacionalmente o Estado angolano. (Art. 13)
Status of International Law
- English1. Rules and principles of general or customary international law shall be an integral part of São Toméan law.
2. Rules provided for in international conventions, treaties and agreements duly approved and ratified by their competent bodies shall be binding in the São Toméan legal order following their official publication, and so long as they remain internationally binding with respect to the São Toméan State.
3. Rules provided for in international conventions, treaties and agreements duly approved and ratified by their competent bodies shall have prevalence, following their enforcement in international and national law, over all internal legislations and regulatory rules of infra-constitutional force. (Art. 13) - Portuguese1. As normas e os princípios de direito internacional geral ou comum fazem parte integrante do direito são-tomense.
2. As normas constantes de convenções, tratados e acordos internacionais validamente aprovadas e ratificadas pelos respectivos órgãos competentes vigoram na ordem jurídica são-tomense após a sua publicação oficial e enquanto vincularem internacionalmente o Estado São-tomense.
3. As normas constantes de convenções, tratados e acordos internacionais validamente aprovadas e ratificadas pelos respectivos órgãos competentes têm prevalência, após sua entrada em vigor na ordem internacional e interna, sobre todos os actos legislativos e normativos internos de valor infraconstitucional.
