The annual leaves of absence and vacations will be remunerated in accordance with the law. The labor of women and of minors under eighteen years of age shall be specially regulated and limited. The State must promote the job placement of the persons of working age and guarantee to the handicapped the right to a job in accordance with their health conditions. (Art. 54)

- EnglishWork is a right, a duty, and a social function that is exercised with the protection and assistance of the State. It is an essential purpose of the State to foment dignified and paid employment. The public powers shall promote the dialogue and agreement between workers, employers, and the State. Consequently:
1. The State guarantees the equality and equity of women and men in the exercise of the right to work.
2. No one may impede the work of others nor obligate them to work against their will.
3. Union freedom, social security, collective negotiation, professional training, respect for one’s physical and intellectual abilities, privacy, and personal dignity are, among others, the basic rights of male and female workers.

5. All kinds of discrimination in access to employment or during the extension of services are prohibited, excluding the exceptions provided for by law with the goal of protecting the worker

7. The law shall dictate, according to what is required by the general interest, the workdays, the days of rest and vacations, the minimum wage and its forms of payment, the participation of nationals in all work, the participation of workers in the benefits of the business and, in general, all the minimum means that are considered necessary in favor of workers, including special regulations for informal work in the home and any other form of human work. The State shall make use of the means at its disposal so that workers may acquire the tools and instruments that are indispensable to their work.
8. It is the obligation of all employers to guarantee their workers adequate conditions of safety, health standards, hygiene, and work environment. The State shall adopt means to promote the creation of petitions integrated by employers and workers for the attainment of these goals
9. All workers have the right to a wage that is just and sufficient to permit them to live with dignity and cover the basic material, social, and intellectual needs of themselves and their families. The payment of equal wages for work of equal value is guaranteed, without discrimination by gender or of another type and in identical conditions of ability, efficiency, and seniority.
… (Art. 62) - SpanishEl trabajo es un derecho, un deber y una función social que se ejerce con la protección y asistencia del Estado. Es finalidad esencial del Estado fomentar el empleo digno y remunerado. Los poderes públicos promoverán el diálogo y concertación entre trabajadores, empleadores y el Estado. En consecuencia:
1) El Estado garantiza la igualdad y equidad de mujeres y hombres en el ejercicio del derecho al trabajo;
2) Nadie puede impedir el trabajo de los demás ni obligarles a trabajar contra su voluntad;
3) Son derechos básicos de trabajadores y trabajadoras, entre otros: la libertad sindical, la seguridad social, la negociación colectiva, la capacitación profesional, el respeto a su capacidad física e intelectual, a su intimidad y a su dignidad personal;

7) La ley dispondrá, según lo requiera el interés general, las jornadas de trabajo, los días de descanso y vacaciones, los salarios mínimos y sus formas de pago, la participación de los nacionales en todo trabajo, la participación de las y los trabajadores en los beneficios de la empresa y, en general, todas las medidas mínimas que se consideren necesarias a favor de los trabajadores, incluyendo regulaciones especiales para el trabajo informal, a domicilio y cualquier otra modalidad del trabajo humano. El Estado facilitará los medios a su alcance para que las y los trabajadores puedan adquirir los útiles e instrumentos indispensables a su labor;
8) Es obligación de todo empleador garantizar a sus trabajadores condiciones de seguridad, salubridad, higiene y ambiente de trabajo adecuados. El Estado adoptará medidas para promover la creación de instancias integradas por empleadores y trabajadores para la consecución de estos fines;
9) Todo trabajador tiene derecho a un salario justo y suficiente que le permita vivir con dignidad y cubrir para sí y su familia necesidades básicas materiales, sociales e intelectuales. Se garantiza el pago de igual salario por trabajo de igual valor, sin discriminación de género o de otra índole y en idénticas condiciones de capacidad, eficiencia y antigüedad;

The laws will regulate the obligation of the employers to install and maintain rooms for infants [salas cunas] and day care places [lugares de custodia] for the children of the workers. - EnglishThe law guarantees stability for workers in their jobs, in accordance with the characteristics of industries and professions, and just causes of severance. Whenever an injustifiable discharge occurs upon final judgment, the worker shall be entitled at his option to compensation for unpaid wages damages, and to the legal indemnity as well as the indemnity agreed to, or else to be reinstated with recognition of unpaid wages, as actual and consequential damages. - EnglishRules of periodic adjustment of the minimum salary or wage of the worker shall be set by law, to cover the normal requirements of his/her family, to improve worker's standard of living according to specific conditions of each economic region and activity. The law may also determine the method of fixing minimum salaries or wages for professions or trades.
Whenever job or piece work is performed, it is obligatory that the minimum wage be ensured for each day's work.
The minimum of all wages or salaries is un-attachable, except for support obligations as established by law. Working tools of the workmen are also un-attachable. (Art. 66) - SpanishLa Ley establecerá la manera de ajustar periódicamente el salario o sueldo mínimo del trabajador, con el fin de cubrir las necesidades normales de su familia, mejorar su nivel de vida, según las condiciones particulares de cada región y de cada actividad económica; podrá determinar asimismo el método para fijar salarios o sueldos mínimos por profesión u oficio.
En los trabajos por tarea o pieza, es obligatorio que quede asegurado el salario mínimo por pieza o jornada.
El mínimo de todo salario o sueldo es inembargable, salvo las obligaciones alimenticias en la forma que establezca la Ley. Son también inembargables los instrumentos de labor de los trabajadores. (Art. 66)
