- EnglishThe maximum duration of the ordinary working day will not exceed eight daily hours and 48 weekly hours, of daytime, except those legally established for special motives. The law will establish more favorable working days for the unsanitary, dangerous, painful, [and] night time tasks, or those whose development is in continuous rotating shifts.
The annual leaves of absence and vacations will be remunerated in accordance with the law. The State guarantees the adoption of the necessary measures so that every person shall be able to obtain productive work providing him or her with a dignified and decorous living and guarantee him or her the full exercise of this right. It is an objective of the State to promote employment. Measures tending to guarantee the exercise of the labor rights of self employed persons shall be adopted by law. Freedom to work shall be subject only to such restrictions as may be established by law.
Every employer shall guarantee employees adequate safety, hygienic and environmental conditions on the job. The State shall adopt measures and create institutions such as to make it possible to control and promote these conditions. The following shall be regulated by law: labor relations related to contracts and collective agreements; general sector minimum wages and salary increases; reincorporation; paid vacations and holidays; calculation of seniority, the work day, extra hours, night time overtime, Sunday work; Christmas bonuses, vouchers, bonuses and other systems of participation in the profits of the enterprise; indemnification and severance pay; maternity leave; professional training and formation; and other social rights.

II. La ley regulará las relaciones laborales relativas a contratos y convenios colectivos; salarios mínimos generales, sectoriales e incrementos salariales; reincorporación; descansos remunerados y feriados; cómputo de antigüedad, jornada laboral, horas extra, recargo nocturno, dominicales; aguinaldos, bonos, primas u otros sistemas de participación en las utilidades de la empresa; indemnizaciones y desahucios; maternidad laboral; capacitación y formación profesional, y otros derechos sociales.

- EnglishWork is a right, a duty, and a social function that is exercised with the protection and assistance of the State. It is an essential purpose of the State to foment dignified and paid employment. The public powers shall promote the dialogue and agreement between workers, employers, and the State. Consequently:
1. The State guarantees the equality and equity of women and men in the exercise of the right to work.
2. No one may impede the work of others nor obligate them to work against their will.
3. Union freedom, social security, collective negotiation, professional training, respect for one’s physical and intellectual abilities, privacy, and personal dignity are, among others, the basic rights of male and female workers.

5. All kinds of discrimination in access to employment or during the extension of services are prohibited, excluding the exceptions provided for by law with the goal of protecting the worker

The law shall dictate, according to what is required by the general interest, the workdays, the days of rest and vacations, the minimum wage and its forms of payment, the participation of nationals in all work, the participation of workers in the benefits of the business and, in general, all the minimum means that are considered necessary in favor of workers, including special regulations for informal work in the home and any other form of human work. The State shall make use of the means at its disposal so that workers may acquire the tools and instruments that are indispensable to their work.
8. It is the obligation of all employers to guarantee their workers adequate conditions of safety, health standards, hygiene, and work environment. The State shall adopt means to promote the creation of petitions integrated by employers and workers for the attainment of these goals
9. All workers have the right to a wage that is just and sufficient to permit them to live with dignity and cover the basic material, social, and intellectual needs of themselves and their families. The payment of equal wages for work of equal value is guaranteed, without discrimination by gender or of another type and in identical conditions of ability, efficiency, and seniority.

Whenever an injustifiable discharge occurs upon final judgment, the worker shall be entitled at his option to compensation for unpaid wages damages, and to the legal indemnity as well as the indemnity agreed to, or else to be reinstated with recognition of unpaid wages, as actual and consequential damages. - EnglishRules of periodic adjustment of the minimum salary or wage of the worker shall be set by law, to cover the normal requirements of his/her family, to improve worker's standard of living according to specific conditions of each economic region and activity. The law may also determine the method of fixing minimum salaries or wages for professions or trades.
Whenever job or piece work is performed, it is obligatory that the minimum wage be ensured for each day's work.
The minimum of all wages or salaries is un-attachable, except for support obligations as established by law. Working tools of the workmen are also un-attachable. (Art. 66) - SpanishLa Ley establecerá la manera de ajustar periódicamente el salario o sueldo mínimo del trabajador, con el fin de cubrir las necesidades normales de su familia, mejorar su nivel de vida, según las condiciones particulares de cada región y de cada actividad económica; podrá determinar asimismo el método para fijar salarios o sueldos mínimos por profesión u oficio.
En los trabajos por tarea o pieza, es obligatorio que quede asegurado el salario mínimo por pieza o jornada.

The ordinary day of work is of eight hours or forty-eight hours weekly, at the longest. In the case of cumulative or atypical workdays, the average number of hours worked in the corresponding period may not exceed that maximum.
Workers have the right to weekly and annual remunerated rest. This benefit and its compensation are regulated by law or by agreement. (Art. 25) - Spanish
La jornada ordinaria de trabajo es de ocho horas diarias o cuarenta y ocho horas semanales, como máximo. En caso de jornadas acumulativas o atípicas, el promedio de horas trabajadas en el período correspondiente no puede superar dicho máximo.
