The political parties and groups form themselves and exercise their activities freely under the condition of respecting the laws of the Republic, the principles of national sovereignty and of democracy. They are equal in rights and subject to the same obligations.
The political parties and groups concur in [concourrent/contribute to] the expression of suffrage.
Political parties and groups created on regional, confessional, tribal, ethnic or racial bases, are prohibited.
Political parties and groups legally constituted benefit from public financing, within the conditions specified by the law. (Art. 25) - French
Les partis et groupements politiques se forment et exercent leurs activités librement sous la condition de respecter les lois de la République, les principes de la souveraineté nationale et de la démocratie. Ils sont égaux en droit et soumis aux mêmes obligations.

- English1. The political parties are political organizations composed of persons who associate freely in order to participate in the political orientation of the State.
2. The political parties of Equatorial Guinea may not have identical denomination to those that pre-existed 12th October 1968, and they must have national character and scope, by which [they] may not be based on tribe, ethnicity, region, district, municipality, province, sex, religion, social condition, or profession or office. - EnglishThe political parties work for the structuring [encadrement] and for the political instruction [formation] of the citizens, for the promotion of their participation in the national life and the management of public affairs. They concur in the expression of the will of the electors and participate in the exercise of power, on the basis of pluralism and of alternation by democratic methods, within the framework of the constitutional institutions.
Their constitution and the exercise of their activities are free, within respect for the Constitution and for the law.
The regime of [a] sole party is illegal.
The political parties may not be founded on a religious, linguistic, ethnic or regional basis, or, in a general manner, on any discriminatory basis or [basis] contrary to the Rights of Man.
They may not have for [an] objective [but], infringement to the Muslim religion, to the monarchical regime, to the constitutional principles, to the democratic foundations or to the national unity and territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

2. Formation and registration of political parties, associations and trade unions shall be regulated by law as is necessary in a democratic society.
3. No association shall function as a political party at the National or state level unless it has:
a. its membership open to any South Sudanese irrespective of religion, gender, ethnic origin or place of birth;
