    1. The National Assembly shall be the parliament of the Republic of Angola.
    2. The National Assembly shall be a single house representing all Angolans, which shall express the sovereign will of the people and exercise the legislative power of the state. (Art. 141)

    2. A Assembleia Nacional é um órgão unicamaral, representativo de todos os angolanos, que exprime a vontade soberana do povo e exerce o poder legislativo do Estado. (Art. 141)

    1. Members shall be elected by universal, free, equal, direct, secret and periodic suffrage by national citizens aged over eighteen who are resident in national territory, including Angolan citizens resident abroad for the purposes of work, study, illness or similar reasons.
    2. Members shall be elected according to the system of proportional representation for a five-year term of office, under the terms of the law. (Art. 143)

Os Deputados são eleitos por sufrágio universal, livre, igual, directo, secreto e periódico pelos cidadãos nacionais maiores de dezoito anos de idade residentes no território nacional, considerando-se igualmente como tal os cidadãos angolanos residentes no estrangeiro por razões de serviço, estudo, doença ou similares.
    2. Os Deputados são eleitos segundo o sistema de representação proporcional, para um mandato de cinco anos, nos termos da lei. (Art. 143)

    1. Nominations shall be presented by the political parties either individually or as coalitions, and the lists may include citizens who are not affiliated to the parties in question, under the terms of the law.
    2. Nominations must be subscribed to by 5,000 to 5,500 voters for the national constituency and 500 to 550 voters for each provincial constituency. (Art. 146)

    1. As candidaturas são apresentadas pelos partidos políticos, isoladamente ou em coligação, podendo as listas integrar cidadãos não filiados nos respectivos partidos, nos termos da lei.
    2. As candidaturas devem ser subscritas por 5000 a 5500 eleitores, para o círculo nacional e por 500 a 550 eleitores, por cada círculo provincial. (Art. 146)
