    The Burundian Government must be composed so that all Burundians are represented in it and that it represents them all; that each has equal opportunities to be a part of it; that all citizens have access to the public services and that the decisions and the actions of the Government obtain the largest possible support. (Art. 16)

    The Government has as [its] task to realize the aspirations of the Burundian People, in particular to heal the divisions of the past, to ameliorate the quality of life of all Burundians and to guarantee to all the possibility to live in Burundi protected from [à l’abri de] fear, from discrimination, from disease and from hunger.     The family is the natural base cell of society. Marriage is the legitimate support of it. Family and marriage are placed under the particular protection of the State.
    Parents have the natural right and the duty to educate and raise their children. They are supported, in this task, by the State and the public collectivities.

    La famille est la cellule de base naturelle de la société. Le mariage en est le support légitime. La famille et le mariage sont placés sous la protection particulière de l’Etat.
    Les parents ont le droit naturel et le devoir d’éduquer et d’élever leurs enfants. Ils sont soutenus dans cette tâche par l’Etat et les collectivités publiques.

    All the agents of the public administration exercise their functions in a manner to serve all the users of the public services in an efficient, impartial and equitable way. The diversion of public funds, corruption, the extortion of funds and racketeering are punished in accordance with the law. (Art. 146)

    Tous les agents de l’administration publique exercent leurs fonctions, de manière à servir tous les utilisateurs des services publics de façon efficace, impartiale et équitable. Le détournement de fonds publics, la corruption, l’extorsion de fonds et les malversations sont punissables conformément à la loi. (Art. 146)
