- EnglishThe Comorian citizen of origin, from the Island where the rotation falls, having the status of elector, aged at least thirty-five (35) years [on] the day of the presentation of their candidature and having effectively resided in a permanent manner in the national territory in the course of the twelve months preceding the election, may be [a] candidate to the presidency of the Union.
For the purposes of this Article, the Comorian [person] who has ancestors [ascendants], from the maternal or the paternal line [who] were born in this Island[,] is from the Island.
… (Art. 53) - Arabicيجوز للمواطن من أصل قمري ومن الجزيرة حيث يقع التناوب ويتمتع بصفة الناخب وعمره خمسة وثلاثون عاماً (35) يوم تقديم ترشيحه ويقيم فعلياً بشكل مستمر في الإقليم الوطني خلال فترة الإثني عشرة شهراً السابقة للانتخابات، أن يكون مرشحاً لرئاسة الاتحاد.
لأغراض هذه المادة، القمري الذي لديه أسلاف من جهة الأم أو الأب في هذه الجزيرة هو من الجزيرة.

(المادة 53) - FrenchPeut être candidat à la présidence de l’Union, le citoyen comorien d'origine, issu de l’Ile où échoit la tournante, ayant la qualité d'électeur, âgé d’au moins trente cinq (35) ans le jour de la présentation de sa candidature et ayant effectivement résidé de manière permanente sur le territoire national au cours des douze mois précédant l’élection.
Au sens du présent article, est issu de l’Ile, le Comorien dont l’un des ascendants, de la lignée maternelle ou paternelle est né dans cette Ile.
