    I. The international treaties and instruments in matters of human rights that have been signed and/or ratified, or those that have been joined by the State, which declare rights more favorable than those contained in the Constitution, shall have preferential application over those in this Constitution.
    II. The rights recognized in the Constitution shall be interpreted in agreement with international human rights treaties when the latter provide more favorable norms. (Art. 256)

    I. Every person, natural and legal, as well as public organs, public functions and institutions, are subject to the present Constitution.
    II. The Constitution is the supreme norm of Bolivian law and enjoys supremacy before any other normative disposition. The components of constitutional law include the international Treaties and Conventions in the matter of human rights and the norms of Communitarian Law, which have been ratified by the country. The application of the legal norms shall be governed by the following hierarchy, in accordance with the authority of the territorial entities:
    1. Constitution of the State
    2. International treaties
    3. National laws, statutes of the autonomies, organic charters and the other departmental, municipal and indigenous legislation.
    4. Decrees, regulations and other resolutions issued by the corresponding executive organs. (Art. 410)

    I. Todas las personas, naturales y jurídicas, así como los órganos públicos, funciones públicas e instituciones, se encuentran sometidos a la presente Constitución.
    II. La Constitución es la norma suprema del ordenamiento jurídico boliviano y goza de primacía frente a cualquier otra disposición normativa. El bloque de constitucionalidad está integrado por los Tratados y Convenios internacionales en materia de Derechos Humanos y las normas de Derecho Comunitario, ratificados por el país. La aplicación de las normas jurídicas se regirá por la siguiente jerarquía, de acuerdo a las competencias de las entidades territoriales:
    1. Constitución Política del Estado.
    2. Los tratados internacionales.
    3. Las leyes nacionales, los estatutos autonómicos, las cartas orgánicas y el resto de legislación departamental, municipal e indígena.
    4. Los decretos, reglamentos y demás resoluciones emanadas de los órganos ejecutivos correspondientes. (Art. 410)

    The international treaties existing prior to the Constitution, which do not contradict it, shall be maintained in the internal legal order with the rank of law. Within the period of four years after the election of the new Executive Organ, the Executive shall renounce and, in that case, renegotiate the international treaties that may be contrary to the Constitution. (Transitional Provisions, Ninth)

    Los tratados internacionales anteriores a la Constitución y que no la contradigan se mantendrán en el ordenamiento jurídico interno, con rango de ley. En el plazo de cuatro años desde la elección del nuevo Órgano Ejecutivo, éste denunciará y, en su caso, renegociará los tratados internacionales que sean contrarios a la Constitución.
