Vice-President

Vice-President
- EnglishThe Guatemalans of origin who are citizens in good standing and who are above forty years of age can opt for the office of President or Vice-President of the Republic. (Art. 185)
- SpanishPodrán optar a cargo de Presidente o Vicepresidente de la República, los guatemaltecos de origen que sean ciudadanos en ejercicio y mayores de cuarenta años. (Art. 185)
Vice-President
- EnglishThe Vice-President of the Republic will exercise the functions of [the] President of the Republic in the cases and in the form established by the Constitution.
He [or she] will be elected on the same ballot as the President of the Republic, in an identical form and for the same term.
The Vice-President must meet the same qualifications as the President of the Republic, [he or she] will enjoy similar immunities, and will hold in the hierarchical order of the State, the level immediately below that functionary. (Art. 190) - SpanishEl Vicepresidente de la República ejercerá las funciones de Presidente de la República en los casos y forma que establece la Constitución.
Será electo en la misma planilla con el Presidente de la República, en idéntica forma y para igual período.
El Vicepresidente deberá reunir las mismas calidades que el Presidente de la República, gozará de iguales inmunidades y tiene en el orden jerárquico del Estado, el grado inmediato inferior al de dicho funcionario. (Art. 190)
