Equality and Non-Discrimination
- English(a) Everyone is entitled to the rights and freedoms included in this Chapter3 without discrimination of any kind, including race, national origin, colour, sex, age, mental or physical disability, political or other opinion, property, birth or other status, or native island.
(b) Special assistance or protection to disadvantaged individuals or groups, or to groups requiring special social assistance, as provided in law shall not be deemed to be discrimination, as provided for in article (a). (Art. 17) - Dhivehi(ހ) މި ބާބުގައި ބަޔާންކޮށްފައިވާ ޙައްޤުތަކާއި މިނިވަންކަން، މިބާބުގައި ބަޔާންކޮށްފައިވާ ގޮތުގެ މަތީން އެއްވެސް ގޮތަކުން ތަފާތު ކުރުމެއްނެތި ކޮމްނެ މީހަކަށްމެ ލިބިގެންވެއެވެ. މިހައްޤުތަކާއި މިނިވަންކަން ލިބުމުގައި، އެމީހެއްގެ ނަސްލަށް، ނުވަތަ އުފަންވީ ޤައުމަށް، ނުވަތަ ކުލަޔަށް، ނުވަތަ ޖިންސަށް، ނުވަތަ އުމުރަށް، ނުވަތަ ޖިސްމާނީ ނުވަތަ ނަފްސާނީ ނުކުޅެދުންތެރިކަމަކަށް، ނުވަތަ އެ މީހެއްގެ ސިޔާސީ ނުވަތަ އެނޫންވެސް ވިސްނުމަކަށް، ނުވަތަ މާލީ ފުއްދުންތެރިކަމަށް، ނުވަތަ ނިސްބަތްވާ ޢާއިލާއަށް ނުވަތަ އުފަންރަށަށް، ނުވަތަ މިނޫންވެސް ކަމަކަށް ބަލައި ތަފާތުކޮށްގެނެއްނުވާނެއެވެ.
(ށ) މުޖްތަމައުގެ އާންމު ޙާލަތަށްވުރެ ނިކަމެތިކަމެއް ލިބިފައިވާ މީހަކަށް، ނުވަތަ ބަޔަކަށް، ނުވަތަ އިޖްތިމާއީ ގޮތުން ހާއްސަ ރައްކާރެތިކަމެއް ލިބިދޭންޖެހޭ ބަޔަކަށް އެހިތެރިވެދިނުމަށްޓަކައި، ނުވަތަ ރައްކާތެރިކަން ލިބިދިނުމަށްޓަކައި ކުރާކަންތައްތަކަކީ މި މާއްދާގެ (ހ) ގައި ބަޔާންކޮށްފައިވާ ފަދަ ތަފާތުކުރުމެއް ކަމުގައި ނުވާނެއެވެ. - EnglishEvery individual is equal before and under the law, and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law. (Art. 20)
- Dhivehiޤާނޫނުގެ ކުރިމަތީގައި، އަދި އެ މީހެއްގެ މައްޗައް ޤާނޫނު ހިންގުމުގައި ކޮންމެ މީހަކީ ވެސް ހަމަހަމަވެގެންވާ މީހެކެވެ. އަދި ޤާނޫނުގެ ރައްކާތެރިކަމާއި، ޤާނޫނުން ލިބިދޭ މަންފާތައް ހަމަހަމަކަމާއެކު ލިބުމަކީ ހަމަ ކޮންމެ މީހެއްގެ ވެސް ޙައްޤެކެވެ. (ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީގެ 20 ވަނަ މާއްދާ)

- English(a) The enumeration of rights and freedoms in this Chapter are guaranteed equally to female and male persons.
… (Art. 62) - Dhivehi(ހ) މި ބާބުގައި ބަޔާންކުރެވިގައިވާ އެންމެހައި ޙައްޤުތަކާއި މިނިވަންކަން އަންހެނުނުންނަށާއި ފިރިހެނުނުންށް ހަމަހަމަކަމާއެކު ލިބިގެންވެއެވެ.
