Constitution of the Republic of Serbia 2006, as amended to 2022
Political Rights and Association
- EnglishEvery citizen of age and working ability of the Republic of Serbia shall have the right to vote and be elected.
Suffrage shall be universal and equal for all, the elections shall be free and direct and voting is carried out by secret ballot in person.
Election right shall be protected by the law and in accordance with the law. (Art. 52) - Serbian CyrillicСваки пунолетан, пословно способан држављанин Републике Србије има право да бира и да буде биран.
Изборно право је опште и једнако, избори су слободни и непосредни, а гласање је тајно и лично.
Изборно право ужива правну заштиту у складу са законом. (Члан 52)
Political Rights and Association

Freedom of political, union and any other form of association shall be guaranteed, as well as the right to stay out of any association.

Political Parties
- EnglishThe role of political parties in democratic shaping of the political will of the citizens shall be guaranteed and recognized.
Political parties may be established freely.
Activities of political parties aiming at forced overthrow of constitutional system, violation of guaranteed human or minority rights, inciting racial, national or religious hatred, shall be prohibited.
Political parties may not exercise power directly or submit it to their control. (Art. 5) - Serbian CyrillicЈемчи се и признаје улога политичких странака у демократском обликовању политичке воље грађана.
Оснивање политичких странака је слободно.
Недопуштено је деловање политичких странака које је усмерено на насилно рушење уставног поретка, кршење зајемчених људских или мањинских права или изазивање расне, националне или верске мржње.
Политичке странке не могу непосредно вршити власт, нити је потчинити себи. (Члан 5)

- EnglishA candidate for the Prime Minister shall be proposed to the National Assembly by the President of the Republic, after he or she considers the opinions of representatives of elected election lists.
The candidate for the Prime Minister shall present to the National Assembly the Government's Programme and propose its constitution.
The National Assembly shall simultaneously vote on the Government's Programme and election of the Prime Minister and members of the Government.
The Government shall be elected if the majority of the total number of deputies votes for its election. (Art. 127) - Serbian CyrillicКандидата за председника Владе Народној скупштини предлаже председник Републике, пошто саслуша мишљење представника изабраних изборних листа.
Кандидат за председника Владе Народној скупштини износи програм Владе и предлаже њен састав.
Народна скупштина истовремено гласа о програму Владе и избору председника и чланова Владе.
Влада је изабрана ако је за њен избор гласала већина од укупног броја народних посланика. (Члан 127)

- EnglishThe National Assembly shall consist of 250 deputies, who are elected on direct elections by secret ballot, in accordance with the Law.
In the National Assembly, equality and representation of different genders and members of national minorities shall be provided, in accordance with Law. (Art. 100) - Serbian CyrillicНародну скупштину чини 250 народних посланика, који се бирају на непосредним изборима, тајним гласањем, у складу са законом.
У Народној скупштини обезбеђују се равноправност и заступљеност полова и представника националних мањина, у складу са законом. (Члан 100)
