    The Riksdag is the foremost representative of the people.
    The Riksdag enacts the laws, determines State taxes and decides how State funds shall be employed. The Riksdag shall examine the government and administration of the Realm. (Instrument of Government, Chapter 1, Art. 4)

    Riksdagen är folkets främsta företrädare.
    Riksdagen stiftar lag, beslutar om skatt till staten och bestämmer hur statens medel ska användas. Riksdagen granskar rikets styrelse och förvaltning. (Kungörelse (1974:152) om beslutad ny regeringsform, 1 kap, 4 §)

    The Riksdag is appointed by means of free, secret and direct elections.
    Voting in such elections is by party, with an option for the voter to express a personal preference vote.
    Party denotes any association or group of voters which runs for election under a particular designation. (Instrument of Government, Chapter 3, Art. 1)

    Riksdagen utses genom fria, hemliga och direkta val.
    Vid sådant val sker röstning på parti med möjlighet för väljarna att lämna särskild personröst.
    Med parti avses varje sammanslutning eller grupp av väljare, som uppträder i val under särskild beteckning. (Kungörelse (1974:152) om beslutad ny regeringsform, 3 kap, 1§)

Reference to Chapter 2, Article 22, para. 1 "A draft law under Article 20 shall be held in abeyance, unless rejected by the Riksdag, for a minimum of twelve months from the date on which the first Riksdag committee report on the proposal was submitted to the Chamber, if so moved by at least ten members. The Riksdag may, however, adopt the proposal directly if it has the support of at least five sixths of those voting. ..."
