Spain
- English(1) Spanish nationality shall be acquired, retained and lost in accordance with the provisions of the law.
(2) No person of Spanish birth may be deprived of his or her nationality.
(3) The State may negotiate dual nationality treaties with Latin-American countries or with those which have had or which have special links with Spain. In these countries Spaniards may become naturalized without losing their nationality of origin, even if those countries do not grant a reciprocal right to their own citizens. (Sec. 11) - Spanish1. Venezuela, Bolivarian Republic of
- EnglishAre considered Venezuelans by naturalization:
1. Foreign nationals who obtain a naturalization letter. In order to do so, they must have at least ten years of uninterrupted residence immediately preceding the application date.
The period of residence shall be reduced to five years in the case of foreign nationals whose original nationality is that of Spain, Portugal, Italy, or a Latin American or Caribbean country.
2. Foreign nationals who marry a Venezuelan, upon declaring their wish to adopt the Venezuelan nationality, which may be done at least five years after the date of marriage.
3. Minors of foreign nationality, on the date of the naturalization of one of his/her parent who exercises parental authority, provided that such minor declares his or her intention of adopting the Venezuelan nationality before reaching the age of 21, and has resided in Venezuela without interruption throughout the five-year period preceding such declaration. 1. Los extranjeros o extranjeras que obtengan carta de naturaleza. A tal fin deberán tener domicilio en Venezuela con residencia ininterrumpida de, por lo menos, diez años, inmediatamente anteriores a la fecha de la respectiva solicitud.
El tiempo de residencia se reducirá a cinco años en el caso de aquellos y aquellas que tuvieren la nacionalidad originaria de España, Portugal, Italia, países latinoamericanos y del Caribe.
2. Los extranjeros o extranjeras que contraigan matrimonio con venezolano o venezolana desde que declaren su voluntad de serlo, transcurridos por lo menos cinco años a partir de la fecha del matrimonio.
3. Los extranjeros o extranjeras menores de edad para la fecha de la naturalización del padre o de la madre que ejerza sobre ellos la patria potestad, siempre que declaren su voluntad de ser venezolanos o venezolanas antes de cumplir los veintiún años de edad y hayan residido en Venezuela, ininterrumpidamente, durante los cinco años anteriores a dicha declaración. Costa Rica
- English[The following] are Costa Ricans by naturalization:
1. The ones who have acquired this nationality by virtue of previous laws.
2. The nationals of other countries of Central American, the Spanish and the Spanish-Americans by birth, who have officially resided in the country for five years at a minimum and that fulfill the other requirements established by the law.
3. The Central Americans, the Spanish and the Spanish-Americans that are not so by birth, and the other foreigners who have officially resided in the country for seven years at a minimum and that fulfill the other requirements established by the law.
4. The foreign woman who by contracting marriage with a Costa Rican loses her nationality.
5. The foreign persons who by marring Costa Ricans lose their nationality or that after being married two years to Costa Ricans, and residing for that same time period in the country, manifest their desire to acquire the Costa Rican nationality.
6. Whoever holds honorary nationality granted by the Legislative Assembly. (Art. 14) - SpanishSon costarricenses por naturalización:

6) Quienes ostenten la nacionalidad honorífica otorgada por la Asamblea Legislativa. (Art. 14)

Chile
- EnglishChileans are:
1. Those born in the territory of Chile, with the exception of those children of foreigners who are [encontrarse] in Chile in the service of their Government, and those children of transient foreigners, all of whom, however, may opt for the Chilean nationality;
2. The children of a Chilean father or mother, born in foreign territory. However, it will be required that one of his ancestors in a direct line of first or second degree, has acquired Chilean nationality by virtue of that established in the Numerals 1, 3 or 4;
3. The foreigners who obtain a card of nationalization in accordance with the law;
4. Those who obtained special grant [gracia] of naturalization by law.
The law will regulate the procedures for opting for Chilean nationality; of [the] granting, denial and cancellation of naturalization papers and for the creation of a register for all these acts. (Art. 10) - SpanishSon chilenos:

El Salvador
- English[The following] are Salvadorans by birth:

3) The natives [originarios] of the other States that constituted the Federal Republic of Central America, who having [a] domicile in El Salvador, manifest before the competent authorities their will to be Salvadoran, without requiring of them the renunciation of their nationality of origin.
