None of the provisions of the present Constitution may be interpreted in a way detrimental to the rights and interests of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the basic principles and norms stipulated in section one of this Constitution.
Laws and other normative legal acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan shall be adopted on the basis of and in fulfillment of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. None of the laws or other normative legal acts may run counter to the norms and principles of the Constitution. (Art. 16) - Uzbek

Status of the Constitution
- English1. If the Constitutional Court rules in favor of the unconstitutionality of a rule contained in an international treaty or agreement, the latter must not be ratified by the President of the Republic, who shall return it to the organ that had approved it.
2. An international treaty or agreement that contains a rule declared to be unconstitutional may be ratified by the President of the Republic if the National Assembly, in consulting the Government, confirms its approval by a majority of two thirds of the Deputies in full exercise of their functions.
3. If the Constitutional Court rules in favor of the unconstitutionality of a rule contained in any legislative act, the instrument must be vetoed by the President of the Republic and returned to the organ that had approved it.
4. In the case foreseen in paragraph 3, the legislative act may not be promulgated unless the organ that had approved it expurgates therefrom the rule judged unconstitutional or, where appropriate, confirms it by a two-thirds majority of Deputies in full exercise of their functions. Status of the Constitution
- English1. This Constitution derives its authority from the will of the people and shall be the supreme law of the land. It shall have a binding force on all persons, institutions, organs and agencies of government throughout the Country.
2. The authority of government at all levels shall derive from this Constitution and the law.
3. The states’ constitutions and all laws shall conform to this Constitution. (Art. 3)

The Republic of Belarus shall be governed by the principle of the rule of law.
The Constitution has supreme legal force and direct effect on the entire territory of the Republic of Belarus. Other legal acts are issued on the basis of and in accordance with the Constitution.
The State, all its organs and officials, organisations and citizens shall act within the limits of the Constitution and the laws adopted in accordance therewith.
Legal acts or individual provisions thereof which are deemed under procedure specified in law to be contrary to the provisions of the Constitution have no legal force.
