Status of International Law
- EnglishUntil the treaty imposing a treaty obligation in effect on the date that this Constitution comes into force expires or is amended, that treaty obligation remains in effect. (Art. 140)

Status of International Law
- EnglishThe exercise of the rights ensuing from the European Union acquis communautaire shall be made equal to the exercise of rights under the Croatian legal order.
All the legal acts and decisions accepted by the Republic of Croatia in European Union institutions shall be applied in the Republic of Croatia in accordance with the European Union acquis communautaire.
Croatian courts shall protect individual rights based on the European Union acquis communautaire.
State bodies, bodies of local and regional self-government and legal persons vested with public authority shall apply European Union law directly. Pravni akti i odluke koje je Republika Hrvatska prihvatila u institucijama Europske unije primjenjuju se u Republici Hrvatskoj u skladu s pravnom stečevinom Europske unije.
Hrvatski sudovi štite subjektivna prava utemeljena na pravnoj stečevini Europske unije.
Državna tijela, tijela jedinica lokalne i područne (regionalne) samouprave te pravne osobe s javnim ovlastima izravno primjenjuju pravo Europske unije. (Članak 141.c)
Status of International Law
- Englisha. The application of this Constitution does not breach the treaties and agreements which Bahrain has concluded with states and international organizations.
b. Exceptionally to the provisions of the second clause of Article 38 of this Constitution, all laws, laws by Decrees, Decrees, statutes, orders, edicts and circulars that have been issued and are in force prior to the first meeting convened by the National Assembly remain proper and valid, unless amended or rescinded in accordance with the regulations prescribed in this Constitution. (3) For the purposes of determining whether or not any law, matter or thing is reasonably justified in a democratic society that has a proper regard for the rights and dignity of mankind, a court may have regard to-
(a) the provisions of this Constitution generally, and especially the National Goals and Directive Principles and the Basic Social Obligations; and
(b) the Charter of the United Nations; and
(c) the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and any other declaration, recommendation or decision of the General Assembly of the United Nations concerning human rights and fundamental freedoms; and
(d) the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the Protocols thereto, and any other international conventions, agreements or declarations concerning human rights and fundamental freedoms; and
(e) judgements, reports and opinions of the International Court of Justice, the European Commission of Human Rights, the European Court of Human Rights and other international courts and tribunals dealing with human rights and fundamental freedoms; and
(f) previous laws, practices and judicial decisions and opinions in the country; and
(g) laws, practices and judicial decisions and opinions in other countries; and
(h) the Final Report of the pre-Independence Constitutional Planning Committee dated 13 August 1974 and presented to the pre-Independence House of Assembly on 16 August 1974, as affected by decisions of that House on the report and by decisions of the Constituent Assembly on the draft of this Constitution; and
(i) declarations by the International Commission of Jurists and other similar organizations; and
(j) any other material that the court considers relevant. (Sec. 39)

- EnglishWhen the Constitutional Court, referred to [the matter] by the President of the Republic, by the Prime Minister or by the President of the National Assembly, has declared that an international commitment contains a clause contrary to the Constitution, the authorization to ratify it or to approve it may only intervene after the revision of the Constitution. (Art. 139)

Status of International Law
- English1. The fundamental rights established in this Constitution shall not exclude others contained in the laws and applicable rules of international law.
2. Constitutional and legal precepts relating to fundamental rights must be interpreted and incorporated in accordance with the Universal Declaration of the Rights of Man, the African Charter on the Rights of Man and Peoples and international treaties on the subject ratified by the Republic of Angola.
3. In any consideration by the Angolan courts of disputes concerning fundamental rights, the international instruments referred to in the previous point shall be applied, even if not invoked by the parties concerned. (Art. 26) - Portuguese1. Os direitos fundamentais estabelecidos na presente Constituição não excluem quaisquer outros constantes das leis e regras aplicáveis de direito internacional.
2. Os preceitos constitucionais e legais relativos aos direitos fundamentais devem ser interpretados e integrados de harmonia com a Declaração Universal dos Direitos do Homem, a Carta Africana dos Direitos do Homem e dos Povos e os tratados internacionais sobre a matéria, ratificados pela República de Angola.
3. Na apreciação de litígios pelos tribunais angolanos relativos à matéria sobre direitos fundamentais, aplicam-se os instrumentos internacionais referidos no número anterior, ainda que não sejam invocados pelas partes. (Art. 26)

The rights and the duties proclaimed and guaranteed by the African Charter of the Rights of Man and of Peoples adopted in 1981 by the Organization of African Unity and ratified by Benin on 20 January 1986 are made an integral part of this Constitution and of Beninese Law. (Art. 7)

(3) Where the High Court or the Court of Appeal is seised of an issue the resolution of which involves a question concerning the interpretation or application of the Treaty, the High Court or the Court of Appeal, as the case may be, shall, if it considers that a decision on the question is necessary to enable it to deliver judgment, refer the question to the Caribbean Court of Justice for determination before delivering judgment.
