Status of International Law
- English1. Rules and principles of general or customary international law shall be an integral part of São Toméan law.
2. Rules provided for in international conventions, treaties and agreements duly approved and ratified by their competent bodies shall be binding in the São Toméan legal order following their official publication, and so long as they remain internationally binding with respect to the São Toméan State.
3. Rules provided for in international conventions, treaties and agreements duly approved and ratified by their competent bodies shall have prevalence, following their enforcement in international and national law, over all internal legislations and regulatory rules of infra-constitutional force. (1) The Republic of Moldova commits to observe the Charter of the United Nations and the treaties to which it is a party, to ground its relationships with other states on the unanimously recognized principles and norms of international law.
(2) The coming into force of an international treaty containing provisions which are contrary to the Constitution shall be preceded by a revision of the latter. (Art. 8) - Moldovian

(2) An international agreement binds the Republic only after it has been approved by resolution in both the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces, unless it is an agreement referred to in subsection (3).
(3) An international agreement of a technical, administrative or executive nature, or an agreement which does not require either ratification or accession, entered into by the national executive, binds the Republic without approval by the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces, but must be tabled in the Assembly and the Council within a reasonable time.
(4) Any international agreement becomes law in the Republic when it is enacted into law by national legislation; but a self-executing provision of an agreement that has been approved by Parliament is law in the Republic unless it is inconsistent with the Constitution or an Act of Parliament.
(5) The Republic is bound by international agreements which were binding on the Republic when this Constitution took effect. (Sec. 231)

Status of International Law
- English1. Norms that contravene the provisions of the Constitution or the principles enshrined therein are unconstitutional.
2. On condition that the norms in question are applied in the legal order of the other party, the organic or formal unconstitutionality of properly ratified international treaties does not prevent the application of the norms they contain in the Portuguese legal order, save if that unconstitutionality results from the breach of a fundamental provision of the Constitution.
