- EnglishThe authorities of the indigenous peoples can exercise their jurisdictional functions within their territorial scope, in conformity with their own norms and procedures, as long as these are not contrary to the Constitution and the laws of the Republic. The law will establish the forms of coordination of this special jurisdiction with the national judicial system. (Art. 246)

- EnglishI. The judicial function is singular. Ordinary jurisdiction is exercised by the Supreme Court of Justice, the departmental courts of justice, the sentencing courts and the judges; the agro-environmental jurisdiction is exercised by the Agro-Environmental Court and judges; and the rural native indigenous jurisdiction is exercised by their own authorities. There shall be specialized jurisdictions regulated by the law.
II. Ordinary jurisdiction and rural native indigenous jurisdiction enjoy equal status.

- EnglishThe legitimate authorities of the native peoples shall have the power to apply within their territorial competence levels of administration of justice based on their ancestral traditions and affecting their members only, in accordance to their own rules and proceedings, provided the same are not contrary to this Constitution, law and public order. The manner in which this special competence shall be coordinated with the national judicial system shall be determined by law. (Art. 260)
- SpanishLas autoridades legítimas de los pueblos indígenas podrán aplicar en su hábitat instancias de justicia con base en sus tradiciones ancestrales y que sólo afecten a sus integrantes, según sus propias normas y procedimientos, siempre que no sean contrarios a esta Constitución, a la ley y al orden público. The authorities of the Rural and Native Communities, with the support of the Rural Patrols, may exercise jurisdictional functions within their domain [ámbito] in accordance with customary law, provided they do not violate the fundamental rights of the person. The law establishes the forms of coordination of said special jurisdiction with Justices of the Peace and with other instances of the Judicial Power. (Art. 149)
