Jamaica
- English1. Any man or woman who, after the fifth day of August, 1962, marries a person who is or becomes a citizen of Jamaica shall, subject to subsection (2), be entitled, upon making application in such manner as may be prescribed and, if he or she is a British protected person or an alien, upon taking the oath of allegiance, to be registered as a citizen of Jamaica.
2. A person may be denied registration under this section if-
a. there is satisfactory evidence that-
i. the marriage was entered into primarily for the purpose of enabling that person to acquire Jamaican citizenship; or
ii. the parties to the marriage have no intention to live permanently with each other as spouses, after the marriage;
b. the person has been convicted in any country of a criminal offence specified in any law which makes provision for such denial on the ground of such conviction.3. Subsection (2) shall not affect the right of any person who, before the 26th day of March, 1999, was entitled to apply for Jamaican citizenship by virtue of any provision of this Constitution in force before that date. Switzerland
- English1 The Confederation shall regulate the acquisition and deprivation of citizenship by birth, marriage or adoption. It shall also regulate the deprivation of Swiss citizenship on other grounds, together with the reinstatement of citizenship.
2 It shall legislate on the minimum requirements for the naturalisation of foreign nationals by the Cantons and grant naturalisation permits.
3 It shall enact simplified regulations on the naturalisation of:
a. third generation immigrants;
b. stateless children. (Art. 38) - French1 La Confédération règle l’acquisition et la perte de la nationalité et des droits de cité par filiation, par mariage ou par adoption. Elle règle également la perte de la nationalité suisse pour d’autres motifs ainsi que la réintégration dans cette dernière.
2 Elle édicte des dispositions minimales sur la naturalisation des étrangers par les cantons et octroie l’autorisation de naturalisation.
3 Elle facilite la naturalisation:
a. des étrangers de la troisième génération;
b. des enfants apatrides. (Art. 38) - German1 Der Bund regelt Erwerb und Verlust der Bürgerrechte durch Abstammung, Heirat und Adoption. Er regelt zudem den Verlust des Schweizer Bürgerrechts aus anderen Gründen sowie die Wiedereinbürgerung.
2 Er erlässt Mindestvorschriften über die Einbürgerung von Ausländerinnen und Ausländern durch die Kantone und erteilt die Einbürgerungsbewilligung.
3 Er erleichtert die Einbürgerung von:
a. Personen der dritten Ausländergeneration;
b. staatenlosen Kindern. (Art. 38) - Italian1 La Confederazione disciplina l’acquisizione e la perdita della cittadinanza per origine, matrimonio e adozione. Disciplina inoltre la perdita della cittadinanza svizzera per altri motivi e la reintegrazione nella medesima.
2 La Confederazione emana prescrizioni minime sulla naturalizzazione degli stranieri da parte dei Cantoni e rilascia il relativo permesso.
3 Essa agevola la naturalizzazione:
a. degli stranieri della terza generazione;
b. dei fanciulli apolidi. (Art. 38)
