- English1. Education is a right for every citizen and all levels of government shall provide access to education without discrimination as to religion, race, ethnicity, health status including HIV/AIDS, gender or disability.
2. All levels of government shall promote education at all levels and shall ensure free and compulsory education at the primary level; they shall also provide free illiteracy eradication programmes. (Art. 29)

- English(a) Everyone has the right to education without discrimination of any kind.
(b) Primary and secondary education shall be freely provided by the State. It is imperative on parents and the State to provide children with primary and secondary education. Opportunity for higher education shall be generally accessible to all citizens.

(ށ) ފަށާ ތަޢުލީމާއި މެދުމަދުރަސީ ތަޢުލީމު ދައުލަތުން ހިލޭ ފޯރުކޮށްދޭންވާނެއެވެ. ކުދީންނަށް ފަށާ ތަޢުލީމާއި މެދުމަދުރަސީ ތަޢުލީމު ދިނުމަކީ އެ ކުދީންގެ މައިންބަފައިންނާއި ދައުލަތުގެ މައްޗައް ލާޒިމް ކަމެކެވެ. އަދި މަތީ ތަޢުލީމު އުނގެނުމުގެ ފުރުޞަތު އެންމެހައި ރައްޔިތުންނަށް ޢާންމުކޮށް ހުޅުވައިލެވިފައި އޮންނަންވާނެއެވެ.
(ނ) ތަޢުލީމީ ނިޒާމުގެ ތެރެއިން އިސްލާމްދީނަށް ބޯލަނބައި ކިޔަމަންޔަތުމަށް ބާރުއެޅުމަށާއި، އިސްލާމްދީނަށް ލޯބިޖެއްސުމަށާއި، އިންސާނީ ޙައްޤުތަކަށް އިޙްތިރާމް ކުރުމަށާއި، ޢާންމުކޮށް އެންމެންގެ މެދުގައި ޞުލްޙަމަސަލަސް ކަމާއި ރަހުމަތްތެރިކަން ބާއްވައިގެން އުޅުމުގެ މުހިންމުކަން އުގަންނައިދީ، މިކަންކަން ކުރިއެރުވުމަށް ބާރުއަޅާންވާނެއެވެ. The State assumes responsibility for it as an irrevocable function of the greatest interest, at all levels and in all modes, as an instrument of scientific, humanistic and technical knowledge at the service of society. Education, is a public service, and is grounded on the respect for all currents of thought, to the end of developing the creative potential of every human being and the full exercise of his or her personality in a democratic society based on the work ethic value and on active, conscious and joint participation in the processes of social transformation embodied in the values which are part of the national identity, and with a Latin American and universal vision.
