- English(1) The National Assembly shall elect an Ombudsman, who shall defend the rights and freedoms of the citizens.

- EnglishThe Civic Defender shall be independent state body who shall protect citizens' rights and monitor the work of public administration bodies, body in charge of legal protection of proprietary rights and interests of the Republic of Serbia, as well as other bodies and organizations, companies and institutions to which public powers have been delegated.
The Civic Defender shall not be authorized to monitor the work of the National Assembly, President of the Republic, Government, Constitutional Court, courts and Public Prosecutor's Offices.
The Civic Defender shall be elected and dismissed by the National Assembly, in accordance with the Constitution and Law.

- EnglishThe National Equality Councils are bodies responsible for ensuring the full observance and exercise of the rights enshrined in the Constitution and in international human rights instruments. The Councils shall exercise their attributions for the drafting, cross-cutting application, observance, follow-up and evaluation of public policies involving the issues of gender, ethnic groups, generations, interculturalism, and disabilities and human mobility, in accordance with the law. To achieve their objectives, they shall coordinate with leading and executive entities and with specialized organizations for the protection of rights at all levels of government. (Art. 156)
- SpanishLos consejos nacionales para la igualdad son órganos responsables de asegurar la plena vigencia y el ejercicio de los derechos consagrados en la Constitución y en los instrumentos internacionales de derechos humanos. Los consejos ejercerán atribuciones en la formulación, transversalización, observancia, seguimiento y evaluación de las políticas públicas relacionadas con las temáticas de género, étnicas, generacionales, interculturales, y de discapacidades y movilidad humana, de acuerdo con la ley. The Council assures a mission of surveillance, of early warning and of evaluation in matters of the respect for the Rights of Man.
Without prejudice to the attributions of the judicial power, the Council examines any situations of infringement of the Rights of Man declared or brought to itscognizance, and it engages in any appropriate action. It brings the results of its investigations to the cognizance of the administrative authorities concerned and, asneed be, before the competent jurisdictions.
The Council initiates actions of awareness [sensibilsation], of information and of communication for the promotion of the Rights of Man.
It equally emits opinions, proposals and recommendations relative to the promotion and to the protection of the Rights of Man.
The Council elaborates an annual report that it addresses to the President of the Republic. This report is published by the President of the Council.
The law establishes the composition and the modalities of appointment of the members of the Council as well as the regulations relative to its organization and to its functioning. (Art. 212) - Arabic
يتولّى المجلس مهمة الرقابة والإنذار المبكر والتقييم في مجال احترام حقوق الإنسان.
يدرس المجلس، دون المساس بصلاحيات السلطة القضائية، كل حالات انتهاك حقوق الإنسان التي يعاينها أو تُبلغ إلى علمه، ويقوم بكل إجراء مناسب في هذا الشأن. ويعرض نتائج تحقيقاته على السلطات الإدارية المعنية، وإذا اقتضى الأمر، على الجهات القضائية المختصة.

Le Conseil assure une mission de surveillance, d'alerte précoce et d'évaluation en matière de respect des Droits de l'Homme.
Sans préjudice des attributions du pouvoir judiciaire, le Conseil examine toute situation d'atteinte aux Droits de l’Homme constatée ou portée à sa connaissance, et entreprend toute action appropriée. Il porte les résultats de ses investigations à la connaissance des autorités administratives concernées et, le cas échéant, devant les juridictions compétentes.
Le Conseil initie des actions de sensibilisation, d'information et de communication pour la promotion des Droits de l'Homme.
Il émet également des avis, propositions et recommandations relatives à la promotion et à la protection des Droits de l'Homme.
Le Conseil élabore un rapport annuel qu'il adresse au Président de la République. Ce rapport est publié par le président du Conseil.

(1) Subject to this Schedule, the Ombudsman may
(a) investigate an action taken by a public authority or the President, Vice-President, Minister, officer or member of the public authority, being action taken in the exercise of the administrative functions of the public authority in the circumstances specified in subparagraph (2);
(b) investigate an allegation of fraud or corruption in connection with the exercise by a person of a function of a public authority.
(c) assist an individual complainant in respect of legal proceedings in relation to a contravention of the provisions of the Charter9;
(d) with leave of the Court hearing proceedings relating to a contravention of the provisions of the Charter, become a party to the proceedings;
(e) initiate proceedings relating to the constitutionality of a law or of the provisions of a law.
(2)The Ombudsman shall investigate an action under sub-para-graph (1)(a)-
(a) where the Ombudsman receives a complaint from a person or body alleging that the complainant has suffered a violation of the complainant’s fundamental rights or freedoms under the Charter, or an injustice, in consequence of a fault in the administration of a public authority or has been treated harshly or oppressively by the authority or the President, Vice-President or a Minister, officer or member of the authority in the exercise of the administrative functions of the authority;
(b) where the President, Vice-President or a Minister or member of the National Assembly requests the Ombudsman to investigate the action on the ground that the person or body specified in the request-
(i) has or may have suffered a violation of the person’s or body’s fundamental rights for freedoms under the Charter, or an injustice, in consequence of a fault in the administration of a public authority or of a fault of the President or Vice-President or a Minister, officer or member of the authority in the exercise of the administrative functions of the authority;
(ii) has been treated harshly or oppressively by the authority or the President or Vice-President or a Minister, officer or member of the authority in the exercise of the administrative functions of the authority,/or on the ground that the practices or patterns of conduct of a public authority or the President or Vice-President or a Minister, officer or member of the authority in the exercise of the administrative functions of the authority appear to result in injustices or harsh, oppressive or unfair administration; or
(c) where the Ombudsman considers that it is necessary to investigate the action on the grounds specified in subsubparagraph (b), and an allegation under subparagraph (1) (b).

- EnglishThe Congress of the Republic will appoint a Commission of Human Rights formed by a deputy for each political party represented in the corresponding period. This Commission shall propose to the Congress three candidates for the election of a Procurator, who must meet the requirements of a magistrate of the Supreme Court of Justice and will enjoy the same immunities and privileges as the deputies to Congress. The law will regulate the attributions of the Commission and of the Procurator of Human Rights to which this Article refers. (Art. 273)
- SpanishEl Congreso de la República designará una Comisión de Derechos Humanos formada por un diputado por cada partido político representado en el correspondiente período. Esta Comisión propondrá al Congreso tres candidatos para la elección de un Procurador, que deberá reunir las calidades de los magistrados de la Corte Suprema de Justicia y gozará de las mismas inmunidades y prerrogativas de los diputados al Congreso. La ley regulará las atribuciones de la Comisión y del Procurador de los Derechos Humanos a que se refiere este artículo. (Art. 273)

- English1. The Human Rights Defender shall be an independent official, who shall follow the respect for human rights and freedoms by state and local self-government bodies and officials, as well as by organizations in cases stipulated by the Law on the Human Rights Defender, and shall facilitate the restoration of violated rights and freedoms and the improvement of the normative legal acts related to human rights and freedoms.
2. The Human Rights Defender shall present to the National Assembly an annual communication on his activities and on the situation of protection of human rights and freedoms. The communication may contain recommendations on legislative or other measures.
3. State and local self-government bodies and officials shall be obliged to provide the necessary documents, information, and clarifications to and support the work of the Human Rights Defender in the manner stipulated by law.
4. Other powers of the Human Rights Defender shall be stipulated by the Law on the Human Rights Defender. (Art. 191) - Armenian1. Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանն անկախ պաշտոնատար անձ է, որը հետևում է պետական և տեղական ինքնակառավարման մարմինների ու պաշտոնատար անձանց, իսկ Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանի մասին օրենքով սահմանված դեպքերում` նաև կազմակերպությունների կողմից մարդու իրավունքների և ազատությունների պահպանմանը, նպաստում է խախտված իրավունքների և ազատությունների վերականգնմանը, իրավունքներին ու ազատություններին առնչվող նորմատիվ իրավական ակտերի կատարելագործմանը:
2. Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանը տարեկան հաղորդում է ներկայացնում Ազգային ժողով իր գործունեության, մարդու իրավունքների և ազատությունների պաշտպանության վիճակի մասին: Հաղորդումը կարող է պարունակել օրենսդրական կամ այլ բնույթի միջոցառումների վերաբերյալ առաջարկներ:
3. Պետական և տեղական ինքնակառավարման մարմիններն ու պաշտոնատար անձինք պարտավոր են օրենքով սահմանված կարգով Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանին տրամադրել անհրաժեշտ փաստաթղթեր, տեղեկություններ և պարզաբանումներ, ինչպես նաև աջակցել նրա աշխատանքներին:
4. Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանի այլ լիազորությունները սահմանվում են Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանի մասին օրենքով: (Հոդված 191)

- English(1) The Human Rights Commission shall promote the observance of and respect for, and protect and investigate violations of the rights recognized by this Constitution and any other law relating to equality of opportunity and treatment (hereinafter referred to as “the rights”).
(2) The Human Rights Commission shall consist of a full time Chairperson and such other members, to be appointed in accordance with this article.
(3) The Chairperson of the Human Rights Commission shall be a person who holds or has held office as a judge of a court having unlimited jurisdiction in civil and criminal matters in some part of the Commonwealth or a court having jurisdiction in appeals from such court or who is qualified to be appointed as any such judge, or any other fit and proper person with expertise or experience in human rights matters, to be appointed by the President from a list, not unacceptable to the President, of six person submitted by the Leader of the Opposition after meaningful consultation with such entities as appear to him or her to have expertise or experience in human rights matters

(4) In addition to the Chairperson, there shall be four members of the Commission who shall be Chairpersons of the Ethnic Relations Commission, Women and Gender Equality Commission, Indigenous People’s Commission and Rights of the Child Commission.

- EnglishThere shall be established by Act of Parliament within six months after Parliament first meets after the coming into force of this Constitution, a Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice which shall consist of—
(a) a Commissioner for Human Rights and Administrative Justice; and
(b) two Deputy Commissioners for Human Rights and Administrative Justice. (Art. 216)
