- English(1) There shall be an Ombudsman, who shall have the powers and functions set out in this Constitution.
(2) The Ombudsman shall be independent and subject only to this Constitution and the law.
(3) No member of the Cabinet or the Legislature or any other person shall interfere with the Ombudsman in the exercise of his or her functions and all organs of the State shall accord such assistance as may be needed for the protection of the independence, dignity and effectiveness of the Ombudsman.

- English1. Everyone may file complaints, for acts or omissions by public authorities, with the Ombudsman who shall receive and investigate them with no powers of decision, submitting to the competent organs any necessary recommendations for preventing and resolving illegalities or injustices.
2. The activity of the Ombudsman shall be independent of the contentious and gracious means foreseen in the Constitution and in the laws.
3. The Ombudsman shall be an independent organ elected by the National Assembly, for the term that the law determines.
4. The Ombudsman shall have the right to the cooperation of all citizens and of all organs and agents of the State and other private or public legal persons, as well as the right to broadcast his recommendations publicly through the media.
5. The law shall regulate the powers of the Ombudsman and the organization of his service. (Art. 21) - Portuguese1. 2. The Human Rights Commission shall ensure that the Bill of Rights is upheld and protected.
3. The Human Rights Commission shall—
a. investigate and report on the observance of rights and freedoms;
b. take necessary steps to secure appropriate redress where rights and freedoms are violated;
c. endeavour to resolve a dispute through negotiation, mediation or conciliation;
d. carry out research on rights and freedoms and related matters;
e. conduct civic education on rights and freedoms; and

- English[The following] are duties and attributions of the Defender of the People:
1. to receive and to investigate denunciations, complaints and claims against violations of the human rights and other acts that this Constitution and the law establish;
2. to request from the authorities at their various levels, including those of the police organs and those of security in general, information for the better exercise of his functions[;] he may not be opposed by any reserve. He may have access to the places where the commission of such acts are denounced. It is also of his competence to act ex officio;

- EnglishThe National Human Rights Commission consists of seven commissioners appointed by the King upon the advice of the Senate from selected persons.
The selected persons must have knowledge and experience in the protection of rights and liberties of the people, and must be politically impartial with evident integrity.
The National Human Rights Commissioners shall hold office for a term of seven years as from the date of appointment by the King, and shall serve for only one term.
The qualifications, prohibitions, selection, and vacation of office of the National Human Rights Commission shall be in accordance with the Organic Act on National Human Rights Commission. However, the provisions on the selection shall also prescribe for the participation of representatives of private organisations relating to the human rights in the selection. - EnglishTo monitor respect for human rights in Afghanistan as well as to foster and protect it, the state shall establish the Independent Human Rights Commission of Afghanistan. Every individual shall complain to this Commission about the violation of personal human rights. The Commission shall refer human rights violations of individuals to legal authorities and assist them in defense of their rights. Organization and method of operation of the Commission shall be regulated by law. (Art. 58)
