- EnglishThe family, founded on the legal ties of marriage, is the basic unit [cellule] of society.
The State works to guarantee, by the law, the protection of the family under the juridical, social and economic plans, in a manner to guarantee its unity, its stability and its preservation.
It assures one equal juridical protection and one equal social and moral consideration to all children, [being the] abstraction made from their familial situation.
Fundamental instruction [enseignement] is a right of the child and an obligation of the family and of the State. A Consultative Council of the Family and of Childhood [Conseil consultatif de la famille et de l'enfance] is created. (1) The Legislature may, by law, define, regulate, protect, safeguard, support, foster and promote the institution of marriage.
(2) Subject to any written law, the Government and any public authority may, in the exercise of their executive authority, protect, safeguard, support, foster and promote the institution of marriage.
(3) Nothing in Part 42 invalidates a law enacted before, on or after the date of commencement of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore (Amendment No. 3) Act 2022 by reason that the law —
(a) defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman; or
(b) is based on such a definition of marriage.
(4) Nothing in Part 4 invalidates an exercise of executive authority before, on or after the date of commencement of the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore (Amendment No. 3) Act 2022 by reason that the exercise is based on a definition of marriage as a union between a man and a woman. - EnglishEvery person has the right to adequate, safe and comfortable, hygienic housing, with appropriate essential basic services, including a habitat such as to humanize family, neighborhood and community relations. The progressive meeting of this requirement is the shared responsibility of citizens and the State in all areas.
The State shall give priority to families, and shall guarantee them, especially those with meager resources, the possibility of access to social policies and credit for the construction, purchase or enlargement of dwellings. - Englisha. The family is the basis of society, deriving its strength from religion, morality and love of the homeland. The law preserves its lawful entity, strengthens its bonds and values, under its aegis extends protection to mothers and children, tends the young and protects them from exploitation and safeguards them against moral, bodily and spiritual neglect. The State cares in particular for the physical, moral and intellectual development of the young.
b. The State guarantees reconciling the duties of women towards the family with their work in society, and their equality with men in political, social, cultural, and economic spheres without breaching the provisions of Islamic canon law (Shari’a).
c. The State guarantees the requisite social security for its citizens in old age, sickness, disability, orphanhood, widowhood or unemployment, and also provides them with social insurance and healthcare services. It strives to safeguard them against ignorance, fear and poverty.
d. Inheritance is a guaranteed right governed by the Islamic Shari’a. (Art. 5) - Arabicأ - الأسرة أساس المجتمع، قوامها الدين والأخلاق وحب الوطن، يحفظ القانون كيانـها الشرعي، ويقوي أواصرها وقيمها، ويحمي في ظلها الأمومة والطفولة، ويرعى النشء، ويحميه من الاستغلال، ويقيه الإهمال الأدبي والجسماني والروحي. كما تـُعنى الدولة خاصة بنمو الشباب البدني والخلقي والعقلي.
ب - تكفل الدولة التوفيق بين واجبات المرأة نحو الأسرة وعملها في المجتمع، ومساواتها بالرجال في ميادين الحياة السياسية والاجتماعية والثـقافية والاقـتصادية دون إخلال بأحكام الشريعة الإسلامية.
ج - تكفل الدولة تحقيق الضمان الاجتماعي اللازم للمواطنين في حالة الشيخوخة أو المرض أو العجز عن العمل أو اليتم أو الترمل أو البطالة، كما تؤمّن لهم خدمات التأمين الاجتماعي والرعاية الصحية، وتعمل على وقايتهم من براثن الجهل والخوف والفاقة.
د - الميراث حق مكفول تحكمه الشريعة الإسلامي. (المادّة 5)

- EnglishEvery minor has the right to live in family and environmental conditions that allow for his integral development, for which [he] will have the protection of the State.
The law will determine the duties of the State and will create the institutions for the protection of the maternity and the infancy.
