(1) Marriage is a unique union between a man and a woman. The Slovak Republic comprehensively protects and cherishes marriage for its own good.
(2) Pregnant women shall be entitled to special treatment, terms of employment, and working conditions.
(3) Equal rights shall be guaranteed to both children born of legitimate matrimony and those born out of lawful wedlock.
(4) Child care and upbringing shall be the right of parents; children shall have the right to parental care and upbringing.The rights of parents may be limited and minor children may be separated from parents against the parents' will only by a court order as provided by law.
(5) Parents taking care of their children shall have the right to assistance provided by the State.
(6) Further details of the rights defined in sections (1) to (5) of this Article shall be set by law. (Art. 41) - Slovak
(1) Manţelstvo je jedinečný zväzok medzi muţom a ţenou. Slovenská republika manţelstvo všestranne chráni a napomáha jeho dobru. Manţelstvo, rodičovstvo a rodina sú pod ochranou zákona. Zaručuje sa osobitná ochrana detí a mladistvých.
(2) Ţene v tehotenstve sa zaručuje osobitná starostlivosť, ochrana v pracovných vzťahoch a zodpovedajúce pracovné podmienky.
(3) Deti narodené v manţelstve i mimo neho majú rovnaké práva.
(4) Starostlivosť o deti a ich výchova je právom rodičov; deti majú právo na rodičovskú výchovu a starostlivosť. Práva rodičov moţno obmedziť a maloleté deti moţno od rodičov odlúčiť proti vôli rodičov len rozhodnutím súdu na základe zákona.
(5) Rodičia, ktorí sa starajú o deti, majú právo na pomoc štátu.
(6) Podrobnosti o právach podľa odsekov 1 aţ 5 ustanoví zákon. (Čl. 41)
