The Nicaraguan State recognizes the person, the family and the community as the origin and the end of its activity, and it is organized to assure [asegurar] the common good, assuming the task of promoting the human development of all and each one of the Nicaraguans, under the inspiration of Christian values, socialist ideals, practices of solidarity, [and] democratic and humanistic [practices], as universal and general values, as well as the values and ideals of the Nicaraguan culture and identity. (1) Marriage is a unique union between a man and a woman. The Slovak Republic comprehensively protects and cherishes marriage for its own good.
(2) Pregnant women shall be entitled to special treatment, terms of employment, and working conditions.
(3) Equal rights shall be guaranteed to both children born of legitimate matrimony and those born out of lawful wedlock.
(4) Child care and upbringing shall be the right of parents; children shall have the right to parental care and upbringing.The rights of parents may be limited and minor children may be separated from parents against the parents' will only by a court order as provided by law.
(5) Parents taking care of their children shall have the right to assistance provided by the State.
(6) Further details of the rights defined in sections (1) to (5) of this Article shall be set by law. (Art. 41) - Slovak
(1) Manţelstvo je jedinečný zväzok medzi muţom a ţenou. Slovenská republika manţelstvo všestranne chráni a napomáha jeho dobru. Manţelstvo, rodičovstvo a rodina sú pod ochranou zákona. Zaručuje sa osobitná ochrana detí a mladistvých.
(2) Ţene v tehotenstve sa zaručuje osobitná starostlivosť, ochrana v pracovných vzťahoch a zodpovedajúce pracovné podmienky.
(3) Deti narodené v manţelstve i mimo neho majú rovnaké práva.
(4) Starostlivosť o deti a ich výchova je právom rodičov; deti majú právo na rodičovskú výchovu a starostlivosť. Práva rodičov moţno obmedziť a maloleté deti moţno od rodičov odlúčiť proti vôli rodičov len rozhodnutím súdu na základe zákona.
(5) Rodičia, ktorí sa starajú o deti, majú právo na pomoc štátu.
(6) Podrobnosti o právach podľa odsekov 1 aţ 5 ustanoví zákon. (Čl. 41)

- English(1) A surviving spouse is entitled to a reasonable provision out of the estate of the other spouse whether the other spouse died having made a valid will or not and whether the spouses were married by civil or customary rites.

Parents are obliged to support, educate and protect their children to ensure their proper physical and spiritual upbringing and development, and the latter are obliged to respect and assist their parents.

The family, which is the foundation of society, shall enjoy special protection from the State.
Paragraph 1. Marriage is civil and the marriage ceremony is free of charge.
Paragraph 2. Religious marriage has civil effects, in accordance with the law.
Paragraph 3. For purposes of protection by the State, the stable union between a man and a woman is recognized as a family entity, and the law shall facilitate the conversion of such entity into marriage.
Paragraph 4. The community formed by either parent and their descendants is also considered as a family entity.
Paragraph 5. The rights and the duties of marital society shall be exercised equally by the man and the woman.
Paragraph 6. Civil marriage may be dissolved by divorce.
Paragraph 7. Based on the principles of human dignity and responsible parenthood, family planning is a free choice of the couple, it being within the competence of the State to provide educational and scientific resources for the exercise of this right, any coercion by official or private agencies being forbidden.

A família, base da sociedade, tem especial proteção do Estado.
§ 1º O casamento é civil e gratuita a celebração.
§ 2º O casamento religioso tem efeito civil, nos termos da lei.
§ 3º Para efeito da proteção do Estado, é reconhecida a união estável entre o homem e a mulher como entidade familiar, devendo a lei facilitar sua conversão em casamento.
§ 4º Entende-se, também, como entidade familiar a comunidade formada por qualquer dos pais e seus descendentes.
§ 5º Os direitos e deveres referentes à sociedade conjugal são exercidos igualmente pelo homem e pela mulher.
§ 6º O casamento civil pode ser dissolvido pelo divórcio.
