Status of the Constitution
- English1. The Constitution shall be the supreme law of the Republic of Angola.
2. The state shall be subject to the Constitution and shall be based on the rule of law, respecting the law and ensuring that the law is respected.
3. Laws, treaties and other acts of the state, local government bodies and public bodies in general shall only be valid if they conform to the Constitution. (Art. 6) - Portuguese1. A Constituição é a lei suprema da República de Angola.
2. O Estado subordina-se à Constituição e funda-se na legalidade, devendo respeitar e fazer respeitar as leis.
3. As leis, os tratados e os demais actos do Estado, dos órgãos do poder local e dos entes públicos em geral só são válidos se forem conformes à Constituição. (Art. 6)

Status of the Constitution

Status of the Constitution
- EnglishA statute of the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands continues in effect except to the extent it is inconsistent with this Constitution, or is amended or repealed. A writ, action, suit, proceeding, civil or criminal liability, prosecution, judgment, sentence, order, decree, appeal, cause of action, defense, contract, claim, demand, title, or right continues unaffected except as modified in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution. (Art. XV, Sec. 1)

- EnglishThis Constitution is the supreme law of Saint Lucia and, subject to the provisions of section 41, if any other law is inconsistent with this Constitution, this Constitution shall prevail and the other law shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be void. (Sec. 120)
