Political parties and groups concur in the expression of suffrage. They form freely and exercise their activities according to conditions specified (prevues) by the law and in respect of the principles of National Sovereignty, of the territorial integrity, of national unity and of pluralistic democracy. The political associations, parties or formations, unions, companies, establishments of social interest, as well as religious communities[,] of which the activities are contrary to the laws, to good morals, or to the good relations of ethnic groups or ensembles[,] may be forbidden according to the terms of the law.

1. The laws of constitutional revision have to respect:

f. the pluralism of expression and of political organization, including political parties and the right of democratic opposition;

1. Citizens of Georgia shall have the right to form a political party and participate in its activities in accordance with the organic law.
2. Political party membership of persons enlisted in the Defence Forces or bodies responsible for state and public security, and those appointed as judges, shall cease.
3. The establishment and activity of a political party that aims to overthrow or forcibly change the constitutional order of Georgia, infringe on the independence or violate the territorial integrity of the country, or that propagates war or violence or incites national, ethnic, provincial, religious or social strife, shall be inadmissible. The establishment of a political party on a territorial principle shall be inadmissible.
4. The prohibition of a political party shall be admissible only by decision of the constitutional court, in cases defined by the organic law and in accordance with the established procedure. (Art. 23)

If a political party infringe one of the following stipulations, it shall have no right of continued existence:
(a) having been declared an unlawful association under the existing law;
(b) directly or indirectly contacting or abetting the insurgent group launching armed rebellion against the Union or the associations and persons determined by the Union to have committed terrorist acts or the association declared to be an unlawful association;
(c) directly or indirectly receiving and expending financial, material and other assistance from a foreign government, a religious association, other association or a person from a foreign country;
(d) abusing religion for political purpose. (Sec. 407)

Actual equality of opportunities for men and women to elective and political party positions shall be guaranteed by means of positive actions in the regulation of political parties and in the electoral system. (Sec. 37)

1. Political parties shall participate in organs of political power in accordance with their democratic representation based on direct and universal suffrage.
2. The right of political parties to democratic opposition, as well as the right to be informed regularly and directly on the progress of the main issues of public interest, shall be recognised. (Sec. 70)

The State recognizes the political debt as a mechanism of finance for the contending political parties, which is aimed towards promoting their freedom and independence. The secondary law will regulate what is referent to this matter. (Art. 210)
