- EnglishTo be a candidate for President or Vice President of the State, one must satisfy the general conditions to be a public servant, be thirty years of age on the day of the election, and have resided permanently in the country for at least five years immediately prior to the election. - English(1) Any reference in this Constitution to the functions of the Governor-General shall be construed as a reference to his or her powers and duties in the exercise of the executive authority of Saint Christopher and Nevis and to any other powers and duties conferred or imposed on him or her as Governor-General by or under this Constitution or any other law.
(2) Where by this Constitution the Governor-General is required to perform any function in his or her own deliberate judgment or in accordance with the advice or recommendation of, or after consultation with, any person or authority, the question whether the Governor-General has so exercised that function shall not be enquired into in any court of law.
(3) Where by this Constitution the Governor-General is required to perform any function after consultation with any person or authority he or she shall not be obliged to exercise that function in accordance with the recommendation of that person or authority. (Sec. 116)

A person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President if –
(a) he is a citizen of Nigeria by birth;
(b) he has attained the age of thirty-five years;
(c) he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party; and

La candidature au poste de Président de la République est un droit reconnu à tout tunisien ou tunisienne, qui n'est pas titulaire d'une autre nationalité, né(e) de père et de mère, de grands-pères paternel et maternel tunisiens, demeurés tous de nationalité tunisienne sans discontinuité.
Le candidat ou la candidate doit être, au jour du dépôt de sa candidature, âgé (e) de quarante ans au moins et jouir de ses droits civils et politiques.
La candidature est présentée à l’Instance supérieure indépendante pour les élections selon les modalités et conditions prévues par la loi électorale. (Art. 89)
