1. The election of the President shall be by universal adult suffrage through a secret ballot.
2. A person shall not be a candidate in a presidential election unless-
a. that person submits to the Electoral Commission on or before the day appointed as nomination day in relation to the election, a document which is signed by that person nominating him or her as a candidate; and
b. the nomination is supported by one hundred voters in each of at least two-thirds of all the districts in Uganda.

1. To be eligible for appointment as President or Vice-President a candidate must:
- possess the Suriname nationality;
- have reached the age of thirty;
- not be excluded from the right of active and passive suffrage;
- not have acted in violation of the Constitution.
2. Before submitting his candidacy, he must have had his domicile and main and real residence in Suriname for at least six years. (Art. 92)

(1) No person shall be eligible for election as President unless he—
(a) is a citizen of India,
(b) has completed the age of thirty-five years, and
(c) is qualified for election as a member of the House of the People.
(2) A person shall not be eligible for election as President if he holds any office of profit under the Government of India or the Government of any State or under any local or other authority subject to the control of any of the said Governments. (Art. 58)
