(1) There shall continue to be a House of Representatives for New Zealand.

(4) The House of Representatives shall have as its members those persons who are elected from time to time in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 1993, and who shall be known as members of Parliament. (Constitution Act 1986, Sec. 10)

Subject to section 34¹³, a person shall be qualified to be elected as a member of the Assembly if, and shall not be so qualified unless, he
a. is a Commonwealth citizen of not less than the age of 18 years;
b. has resided in Mauritius for a period of, or periods amounting in the aggregate to, not less than 2 years before the date of his nomination for election;
c. has resided in Mauritius for a period of not less, than 6 months immediately before that date; and
d. is able to speak and, unless incapacitated by blindness or other physical cause, to read the English language with a degree of proficiency sufficient to enable him to take an active part in the proceedings of the Assembly. (Sec. 33)

In order to be eligible as member of the National Assembly it is necessary:
1. To be Panamanian by birth, or through naturalization, and to have resided for fifteen years in the country after naturalization;
2. To be a citizen in the exercise of his/her legal rights;
3. To be at least twenty one years of age at the time of election;
4. Not to have been sentenced for premeditated offense to five years or more in prison by enforceable decision of a court of law;
5. To be a resident of the respective constituency for at least one (1) year before being nominated for office. (Art. 153)

Al-Shoura Council shall consist of forty-five Members thirty of whom shall be elected by direct, general secret ballot; and the Emir shall appoint the remaining fifteen Members from amongst the Ministers or any other persons. … (Art. 77)
