Citizenship and Nationality
- English(1) The citizenship of Bangladesh shall be determined and regulated by law.
(2) The people of Bangladesh shall be known as Bangalees as a nation and the citizens of Bangladesh shall be known as Bangladeshies. (Art. 6) - Bengali(১) বাংলাদেশের নাগরিকত্ব আইনের দ্বারা নির্ধারিত ও নিয়ন্ত্রিত হইবে।

Citizenship and Nationality
- English(1) Any citizen of Singapore of or over the age of 21 years and of sound mind who is also or is about to become a citizen of another country may renounce his citizenship of Singapore by declaration registered by the Government, and shall upon such registration cease to be a citizen of Singapore.
(2) The Government may withhold the registration of a declaration under this Article —
(a) if the declaration is made during any war in which Singapore is engaged; or
(b) if the declaration is made by a person subject to the Enlistment Act (Cap. 93) unless he has —
(i) discharged his liability for full-time service under section 12 of that Act;
(ii) rendered at least 3 years of operationally ready national service under section 13 of that Act in lieu of such full-time service; or
(iii) complied with such conditions as may be determined by the Government.
(3) This Article applies to a woman under the age of 21 years who has been married as it applies to a person of or over that age. (Art. 128)

- EnglishSubject to Article 18, any person of or over the age of eighteen years who was born in the Federation before Merdeka Day is entitled, upon making application to the Federal Government, to be registered as a citizen if he satisfies the Federal Government—
(a) that he has resided in the Federation during the seven years immediately preceding the date of the application, for periods amounting in the aggregate to not less than five years;
(b) that he intends to do so permanently;
(c) that he is of good character; and
(d) that he has an elementary knowledge of the Malay language. (ނ) ތަޢުލީމީ ނިޒާމުގެ ތެރެއިން އިސްލާމްދީނަށް ބޯލަނބައި ކިޔަމަންޔަތުމަށް ބާރުއެޅުމަށާއި، އިސްލާމްދީނަށް ލޯބިޖެއްސުމަށާއި، އިންސާނީ ޙައްޤުތަކަށް އިޙްތިރާމް ކުރުމަށާއި، ޢާންމުކޮށް އެންމެންގެ މެދުގައި ޞުލްޙަމަސަލަސް ކަމާއި ރަހުމަތްތެރިކަން ބާއްވައިގެން އުޅުމުގެ މުހިންމުކަން އުގަންނައިދީ، މިކަންކަން ކުރިއެރުވުމަށް ބާރުއަޅާންވާނެއެވެ.
