Vice-President
- English(1) The Vice-President shall be elected by the members of an electoral college consisting of the members of both Houses of Parliament in accordance with the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote and the voting at such election shall be by secret ballot.
(2) The Vice-President shall not be a member of either House of Parliament or of a House of the Legislature of any State, and if a member of either House of Parliament or of a House of the Legislature of any State be elected Vice-President, he shall be deemed to have vacated his seat in that House on the date on which he enters upon his office as Vice-President.
(3) No person shall be eligible for election as Vice-President unless he—
(a) is a citizen of India;
(b) has completed the age of thirty-five years; and
(c) is qualified for election as a member of the Council of States.
… (Art. 66) - Hindi(1) उपराष्ट्रपति का निर्वाचन संसद के दोनों सदनों के सदस्यों से मिलकर बनने वाले निर्वाचकगण के सदस्यों द्वारा आनुपातिक प्रतिनिधित्व पद्धति के अनुसार एकल संक्रमणीय मत द्वारा होगा और ऐसे निर्वाचन मंल मतदान गुप्त होगा।
(2) उपराष्ट्रपति संसद के किसी सदन का या किसी राज्य के विधान-मंडल के किसी सदन का सदस्य नहीं होगा और यदि संसद के किसी सदन का या किसी राज्य के विधान-मंडल के किसी सदन का कोई सदस्य उपराष्ट्रपति निर्वाचित हो जाता है तो यह समझा जाएगा कि उसने उस सदन में अपना स्थान उपराष्ट्रपति के रूप में अपने पदग्रहण की तारीख से रिक्त कर दिया है।
(3) कोई व्यक्ति उपराष्ट्रपति निर्वाचित होने का पात्र तभी होगा जब वह—
(क) भारत का नागरिक है;
(ख) पैंतीस वर्ष की आयु पूरी कर चुका है; और
(ग) राज्य सभा का सदस्य निर्वाचित होने के लिए अर्हित है।

II. A citizen of the Azerbaijani Republic, having voting right and university decree and having no obligations in other states can be appointed to the post of Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. (Art. 103-1) - AzerbaijaniI. Azərbaycan Respublikasının Birinci vitse-prezidenti və vitse-prezidentləri Azərbaycan Respublikasının Prezidenti tərəfindən vəzifəyə təyin və vəzifədən azad edilirlər.

(2) Without prejudice to the provisions of Article 37(5), the Vice-President shall be elected in the same election together with the President, after being nominated by his party at the same time as the Presidential candidate and being voted for together on the same ticket. When the Presidential candidate is elected the Vice-President shall have been elected.
(3) A person shall be nominated to contest for the office of Vice-President on the basis of the principle that where the President of the United Republic hails from one part of the United Republic, then the Vice-President shall be a person who hails from the other part of the Union.
(4) A person shall not be nominated to contest for the office of Vice-President of the United Republic, save only if -
(a) he is a citizen of the United Republic by birth in accordance with the citizenship law;
(b) he has attained the age of forty;
(c) he is a member of, and a candidate nominated by, a political party;
(d) he is qualified to be a Member of Parliament or a Member of the House of Representatives; and
(e) within the period of five years before the elections he has not been convicted by any court for any offence relating to evasion to pay any tax due to the Government.

(b) The Presidential Electoral College shall be formed with three groups of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw representatives as follows :
(i) group formed with elected Hluttaw representatives in the Hluttaw with an equal number of representatives elected from Regions and States;
(ii) group formed with elected Hluttaw representatives in the Hluttaw elected on the basis of township and population;
(iii) group formed with the Defence Services personnel Hluttaw representatives nominated by the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services for the said two Hluttaws.
(c) Each group shall elect a Vice-President from among the Hluttaw representatives or from among persons who are not Hluttaw representatives.
(d) The Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and a Body comprising the Heads and Deputy Heads of the two Hluttaws in the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw shall scrutinize whether or not the Vice-Presidents possess the qualifications prescribed for the President.

(ခ) သမ္မတရွေးချယ်တင်မြှောက်ရေးအဖွဲ့ကို ပြည်ထောင်စုလွှတ်တော်ကိုယ်စားလှယ် အစုအဖွဲ့သုံးဖွဲ့ဖြင့် အောက်ပါအတိုင်း ဖွဲ့စည်းရမည် -
(၁) တိုင်းဒေသကြီးများ နှင့် ပြည်နယ်များမှ ကိုယ်စားလှယ်ဦးရေတူညီစွာ ရွေးကောက် တင်မြှောက်သည့် လွှတ်တော်ရှိ ရွေးကောက်တင်မြှောက်ခြင်းခံရသော လွှတ်တော်ကိုယ် စားလှယ်များ အစုအဖွဲ့၊
(၂) မြို့နယ်ကိုအခြေခံ၍လည်းကောင်း၊ လူဦးရေကိုအခြေခံ၍လည်းကောင်း ရွေးကောက် တင်မြှောက်သည့်လွှတ်တော်ရှိ ရွေးကောက်တင်မြှောက်ခြင်းခံရသည့် လွှတ်တော်ကိုယ် စားလှယ်များ အစုအဖွဲ့၊
(၃) ဖော်ပြပါလွှတ်တော်နှစ်ရပ်အတွက် တပ်မတော်ကာကွယ်ရေးဦးစီးချုပ်က အမည် စာရင်းတင်သွင်းသည့် တပ်မတော်သားလွှတ်တော်ကိုယ်စားလှယ်များအစုအဖွဲ့။
(ဂ) ယင်းအစုအဖွဲ့တစ်ဖွဲ့စီက ဒုတိယသမ္မတတစ်ဦးစီကို လွှတ်တော်ကိုယ်စားလှယ်များ ထဲမှ ဖြစ်စေ၊ လွှတ်တော်ကိုယ်စားလှယ်မဟုတ်သူများထဲမှဖြစ်စေ ရွေးချယ်တင်မြှောက် ရမည်၊
(ဃ) ဒုတိယသမ္မတများသည် နိုင်ငံတော်သမ္မတအတွက်သတ်မှတ်ထားသည့် အရည် အချင်းများနှင့် ပြည့်စုံခြင်း ရှိ၊ မရှိကို ပြည်ထောင်စုလွှတ်တော်နှင့် ပြည်ထောင်စုလွှတ်တွင် ပါဝင်သော လွှတ်တော်နှစ်ရပ်၏ အကြီးအမှူးများနှင့် ဒုတိယအကြီးအမှူးများ ပါဝင်သည့် အဖွဲ့က စိစစ်ရမည်၊
