- EnglishThe law will establish the formalities to celebrate matrimony between a man and a woman, the requirements to contract it, the causes for separation, for dissolution and their effects, as well as the regime of administration of assets and other rights and obligations between spouses.
The unions of fact between a man and a woman, without legal impediments to contract matrimony, that meet the conditions of stability and singularity, produce similar effects to a matrimony, within the conditions established by the law. (Art. 51) - SpanishLa ley establecerá las formalidades para la celebración del matrimonio entre el hombre y la mujer, los requisitos para contraerlo, las causas de separación, de disolución y sus efectos, así como el régimen de administración de bienes y otros derechos y obligaciones entre cónyuges.
Las uniones de hecho entre el hombre y la mujer, sin impedimentos legales para contraer matrimonio, que reúnan las condiciones de estabilidad y singularidad, producen efectos similares al matrimonio, dentro de las condiciones que establezca la ley. (Art. 51)

- English(1) Marriage is the basis of the family, which is the foundation of society. Its protection is a legal duty of the state.
(2) Mother and child care is a legal duty of the state.
(3) Every child has the right to care from their parents, including education and instruction. In instances where this care is not available from the family, it must be provided by others. This right applies to street children and children of unknown parents, the rights of whom the state has a particular duty to fulfill and protect.
(4) Adults have a duty to support their parents if the parents are unable to care for themselves.

- English1 The State acknowledges that the primary and natural educator of the child is the Family and guarantees to respect the inalienable right and duty of parents to provide, according to their means, for the religious and moral, intellectual, physical and social education of their children.
2 Parents shall be free to provide this education in their homes or in private schools or in schools recognised or established by the State.
