- EnglishThe Qualifications of a Senator shall be as follows:
(1) He shall be of the full age of Thirty Years;
(2) He shall be either a natural-born Subject of the Queen, or a Subject of the Queen naturalized by an Act of the Parliament of Great Britain, or of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, or of the Legislature of One of the Provinces of Upper Canada, Lower Canada, Canada, Nova Scotia, or New Brunswick, before the Union, or of the Parliament of Canada after the Union;
(3) He shall be legally or equitably seised as of Freehold for his own Use and Benefit of Lands or Tenements held in Free and Common Socage, or seised or possessed for his own Use and Benefit of Lands or Tenements held in Franc-alleu or in Roture, within the Province for which he is appointed, of the Value of Four thousand Dollars, over and above all Rents, Dues, Debts, Charges, Mortgages, and Incumbrances due or payable out of or charged on or affecting the same;
(4) His Real and Personal Property shall be together worth Four thousand Dollars over and above his Debts and Liabilities;
(5) He shall be resident in the Province for which he is appointed;
(6) In the Case of Quebec he shall have his Real Property Qualification in the Electoral Division for which he is appointed, or shall be resident in that Division. (Constitution Act 1867, Sec. 23) - FrenchLes qualifications d’un sénateur seront comme suit:

- English(1) A person shall not be qualified to be elected or chosen as a member of Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament) unless-
(a) he is a citizen of Pakistan;
(b) he is, in the case of the National Assembly, not less than twenty-five years of age and is enrolled as a voter in any electoral roll in-
(i) any part of Pakistan, for election to a general seat or a seat reserved for a non-Muslims; and
(ii) any area in a Province from which she seeks membership for election to a seat reserved for women.
(c) he is, in the case of the Senate, not less than thirty years of age and is enrolled as a voter in any area in a Province or, as the case may be, the Federal Capital from where he seeks membership;
(d) he is of good character and is not commonly known as one who violates Islamic Injunctions;
(e) he has adequate knowledge of Islamic teachings and practices obligatory duties prescribed by Islam as well as abstains from major sins;
(f) he is sagacious, righteous, non-profligate, honest and ameen, there being no declaration to the contrary by a court of law; and
(g) he has not, after the establishment of Pakistan, worked against the integrity of the country or opposed the ideology of Pakistan.
(2) The disqualifications specified in paragraphs (d) and (e) shall not apply to a person who is a non-Muslim, but such a person shall have good moral reputation. (Art. 62) - Urdu(١) کوئی شخص مجلس شوریٰ (پارلیمینٹ) کا رکن منتخب ہونے یا چنے جانے کا اہل نہیں ہو گا اگر۔۔
(الف) وہ پاکستان کا شہری نہ ہو؛
(ب) وہ قومی اسمبلی کی صورت میں ,پچیس سال سے کم عمر کا ہواور کسی انتخابی فہرست میں ووٹر کی حیثییت سے، (اول) پاکستان کے کسی حصہ میں، عام نشست یا غیر مسلموں کے لئے مخصوص کسی نشست پر انتخاب کے لئےدرج نہ ہو؛ اور
(دوم) کسی صوبہ کے ایسے علاقے میں جہاں سے وہ خواتین کے لئے مخصوص نشست پر انتخاب کے لئے رکنیت چاہتی ہو، درج نہ ہو۔
(ج) وہ سینٹ کی صورت میں تیس سال سے کم عمر کا ہو اور کسی صوبے میں کسی علاقے میں یا، جیسی بھی صورت ہو وفاقی درالحکومت میں جہاں سے وہ رکنیت چاہتا ہو بطور ووٹر درج نہ ہو؛
(د) وہ اچھے کردار کا حامل نہ ہو اورعام طور پراحکام اسلام سے انحراف میں مشہور ہو؛
(ہ) وہ اسلامی تعلیمات کا خاطرخواہ علم نہ رکھتا ہو اور اسلام کے مقررکردہ فرائض کا پابند نیز کبیرہ گناہوں سے مجتنب نہ ہو؛
(و) وہ سمجھدار، پارسا نہ ہو اور فاسق ہو اور ایماندار اور امین نہ ہو , عدالت نےاس کےبرعکس قرار نہ دیا ہو؛ اور
(ز) اس نے قیام پاکستان کے بعد ملک کی سالمیت کے خلاف کام کیا ہو یا نظریہ پا کستان کی مخالفت کی ہو۔
(۲) پیراجات (د)اور(ہ) میں صراحت کردہ نااہلیوں کا کسی ایسے شخص پر اطلاق نہیں ہو گا جو غیرمسلم ہو، لیکن ایسا شخص اچھی اخلا قی شہرت کا حامل ہو گا۔ ( آرٹیکل۶۲ )

- EnglishA member of the Chamber of Deputies must meet the following requirements:
a. He must be a citizen of Bahrain, and for naturalized citizens at least ten years must have elapsed since acquiring their citizenship. He must not be a citizen of another country, with the exception of citizens of the member states of the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf, on the condition that his Bahraini citizenship be the original citizenship. He must enjoy full civil and political rights, and must be enrolled in the in an electoral register.
b. On the day of his election he must be not less than thirty years of age by the Gregorian Calendar.
c. He must read and write Arabic fluently.

أ - أن يكون بحرينياً، وأن يمضي على من اكتسب الجنسية البحرينية عشر سنوات على الأقل، وغير حامل لجنسية دولة أخرى، باستثناء من يحمل جنسية إحدى الدول الأعضاء بمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية بشرط أن تكون جنسيته البحرينية بصفة أصلية، ومتمتعاً بكافة حقوقه المدنية والسياسية، وأن يكون اسمه مدرجاً في أحد جداول الانتخاب.
ب - ألا تـقل سنه يوم الانتخاب عن ثلاثين سنة ميلادية كاملة.
ج - أن يجيد قراءة اللغة العربية وكتابتها.

- English(1) Every qualified voter who has attained the age of 21 years is qualified to be a candidate for election as a member of the Nitijela.
(2) Any person who is qualified to be a candidate under paragraph (1) of this Section shall have the right to be a candidate in any electoral district in which he is entitled to vote, or unless otherwise provided by Act, in any other electoral district:
