- EnglishThe Public Ministry shall be made up of the General Prosecutor of the Nation, the Ombudsman, the assigned public prosecutors, and the agents of the Public Ministry before the legal authorities, as well as by municipal representatives and other official determined by an Act. It is the responsibility of the Public Ministry to defend and promote human rights, to protect the public interest, and to oversee the official conduct of those who perform public functions. - SpanishEl Ministerio Público será ejercido por el Procurador General de la Nación, por el Defensor del Pueblo, por los procuradores delegados y los agentes del ministerio público, ante las autoridades jurisdiccionales, por los personeros municipales y por los demás funcionarios que determine la ley. - English(a) The Human Rights Commission’s responsibilities and powers shall include the following:
1. to promote respect for human rights;
2. to promote the protection, development and attainment of human rights;
3. to monitor and assess the observance of human rights.
(b)The Human Rights Commission shall have the following functions and powers, as regulated by law:
1. to investigate and to report on the observance of human rights;
2. to take steps to secure appropriate redress where human rights have been violated;
3. to carry out research, and to educate the public;

2. އިންސާނީ ޙައްޤުތައް ރައްކާރެއިކުރުމާއި، ކުރިއެރުވުމަށާއި، އެ ޙާއްޤުތައް ހޯދައިދިނުމަށް މަސައްކަތްކުރުން.
3. އިންސާނީ ޙައްޤުތަކަށް ޙުރުމަތްތެރިކޮށް ހިތާމިންވަރު ބަލައި ވަޒަންކުރުން.
(ށ) ހިއުމަން ރައިޓްސް ކޮމިޝަނުގެ މަސްއޫލިއްޔަތުތައް އަދާކުރުމަށްޓަކައި، ޤާނޫނެއް ކަނޑައަޅާ ބާރުތަކެއް އެ ކޮމިޝަނަށް ލިބިގެންވެއެވެ. އޭގެ ތެރޭގައި އަންނަނިވި ކަންތައްތައް ހިމެނެއެވެ.
1. އިންސާނީ ޙައްޤުތަކަށް ޙުރުމަތްރެއިކޮށް ހިތާމިންވަރު ތަޙުޤީޤުކޮށް އަންގާންޖެހޭ ފަރާތްތަކށް އެންގުން.
2. އިންސާނީ ޙައްގެއް ނިގުޅައިގެންފިނަމަ، ޤާނޫނުގައިވާ ގޮތުގެމަތީން އަޅަންޖެހޭ ފިޔަވަޅުތައް އެޅުން.
3.އިންސާނީ ޙައްޤުތަކާ ގުޅޭ އެކިއެކި ދިރާސާތައްކުރުމާއި އެޙައްގުތަކާ ބެހޭ ގޮތުން ޢާންމު ހޭލުންތެރިކަން އިތުރު ކުރުވުން.
4. ހިއުމަން ރައިޓްސް ކޮމިޝަނަށް ޤާނޫނުން ލިބިދޭ އިތުރު ބާރުތަކާއި ހަވާލުކުރެވޭ އިތުރު މަސްއޫލިއްޔަތުތައް. (ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީގެ 192 ވަނަ މާއްދާ)

The Defender of the People is elected and removed by the Congress with the vote of two-thirds of its legal number. He enjoys the same immunity and the same prerogatives as the Congressmen.
To be elected Defender of the People, it is required to have attained 35 years of age and to be an attorney.

El Defensor del Pueblo es elegido y removido por el Congreso con el voto de los dos tercios de su número legal. Goza de la misma inmunidad y de las mismas prerrogativas de los congresistas.
Para ser elegido Defensor del Pueblo se requiere haber cumplido treinta y cinco años de edad y ser abogado.
El cargo dura cinco años y no está sujeto a mandato imperativo. Tiene las mismas incompatibilidades que los vocales supremos. (Art. 161)

- EnglishThe People Defender’s Office is charged with the furtherance, defense and oversight of the rights and guarantees established under this Constitution and international treaties on human rights, in addition to defending the legitimate, collective and diffuse interest of the citizens.
The People Defender’s Office shall act under the direction and responsibility of the People Defender, who shall be designated to serve for a single seven-year term. The People Defender must be a Venezuelan national over the age of 30 years, with manifest and proven competence in the field of human rights, and must meet with such requirements as to honesty, ethics and morality as may be established by law. If the People Defender is temporarily or permanently unavailable to serve, the vacancy shall be filled in accordance with applicable provisions of law. (Art. 280) - SpanishLa Defensoría del Pueblo tiene a su cargo la promoción, defensa y vigilancia de los derechos y garantías establecidos en esta Constitución y los tratados internacionales sobre derechos humanos, además de los intereses legítimos, colectivos y difusos, de los ciudadanos.
La Defensoría del Pueblo actuará bajo la dirección y responsabilidad del Defensor o Defensora del Pueblo, quien será designado o designada por un único período de siete años.
Para ser Defensor o Defensora del Pueblo se requiere ser venezolano o venezolana, mayor de treinta años, con manifiesta y demostrada competencia en materia de derechos humanos y cumplir con las exigencias de honorabilidad, ética y moral que establezca la ley.
