(2) The President appoints the Deputy President and Ministers, assigns their powers and functions, and may dismiss them.
(3) The President –
(a) must select the Deputy President from among the members of the National Assembly;
(b) may select any number of Ministers from among the members of the Assembly; and
(c) may select no more than two Ministers from outside the Assembly.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, after considering the proposed nominee for the position of Prime Minister, within a ten-day term shall propose the nominee for consideration and approval by the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The nominee for the position of Prime Minister, during the consideration and approval of their nomination in the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, shall present a program of action of the Cabinet of Ministers for short and long-term prospects.
A nominee of the Prime Minister shall be deemed as approved, if more than half of the total number of deputies of the Legislative Chamber and of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan vote for said nominee.
