    The holding of title [titularidad] of the Executive Power is exercised[,] in representation of and for the benefit of the people[,] by the President and[,] in his default, by the Vice President of the Republic. (Art. 235)

    La titularidad del Poder Ejecutivo la ejerce en representación y para beneficio del pueblo el Presidente, y en su defecto, los Designados a la Presidencia de la República. (Art. 235)
Vice-President
  • English
    The President and Vice President of the Republic will be jointly and directly elected by the people by simple majority of votes. The election will be declared by the National Tribunal of Elections and, in [its] default, by the National Congress or by the Supreme Court of Justice, as the case may be. (Art. 236)

    El Presidente y tres (3) Designados a la Presidencia de la República, serán elegidos conjunta y directamente por el pueblo, por simple mayoría de votos. La elección será declarada por el Tribunal Supremo Electoral, y en su defecto por el Congreso Nacional o por la Corte Suprema de Justicia en su caso. (Art. 236)
Vice-President

    To be President or Vice President of the Republic it is required:
    1. To be Honduran by birth;
    2. To be more than thirty (30) years [of age];
    3. To be in the enjoyment of the rights of citizens; and,
    4. To be of secular estate. (Art. 238)
  • Spanish
    Para ser Presidente o Designado a la Presidencia, se requiere:
    1. Ser hondureño por nacimiento;
    2. Ser mayor de treinta (30) años;
    3. Estar en el goce de los derechos del ciudadano; y,
    4. Ser del Estado seglar (Art. 238)
