    The President of the Republic, on a proposal of the Prime Minister, in consultation with the Vice President, appoints the members of the Government and terminates their functions. (Art. 109)

  • French
    Le Président de la République, en consultation avec le Vice-Président et le Premier Ministre, nomme les membres du Gouvernement et met fin à leurs fonctions. (Art. 109)

    The Government includes the Prime Minister and the other Ministers. It is open to all the ethnic components. It includes at most 60% of Hutu Ministers and at most 40% of Tutsi Ministers. A minimum of 30% of women is assured. (Art. 128)

    Reta igizwe n’Umushikiranganji wa Mbere, n’abandi bashikiranganji. Ubwoko bwose burafise uburenganzira bwo kuja mu rwego nshikiranganji. Urwego nshikiranganji rugizwe n’ibice bitarenga 60 % vy’abashikiranganji b’abahutu n’ibice bitarenga 40 % vy’abashikiranganji b’abatutsi. Haba harimwo n’imiburiburi ibice 30 % vy’abakenyezi. (Ingingo ya 128)

    Le Gouvernement comprend le Premier Ministre et les autres ministres. Il est ouvert à toutes les composantes ethniques. Il comprend au plus 60% de Ministres Hutu et au plus 40% de Ministres Tutsi. Il est assuré un minimum de 30% de femmes. (Art. 128)

    The activities of the Government are coordinated by a Prime Minister appointed by the President of the Republic, after prior approval of his candidature by the National Assembly and the Senate voting separately and with an absolute majority of their members.
    The Prime Minister must solely enjoy the Burundian nationality of origin. (Art. 130)

    Les activités du Gouvernement sont coordonnées par un Premier Ministre nommé par le Président de la République, après approbation préalable de sa candidature par l’Assemblée Nationale et le Sénat votant séparément et à la majorité absolue de leurs membres.
    Le Premier Ministre doit jouir uniquement de la nationalité Burundaise d’origine. (Art. 130)
