Employment Rights and Protection
- EnglishEveryone shall have the right to choose freely a profession or a type of work, except for restrictions imposed by law because of interest collective or inherent to the profession itself. (Art. 32)
- PortugueseTodos têm o direito de escolher livremente a profissão ou o género de trabalho, salvo as restrições legais impostas pelo interesse colectivo ou inerentes à própria capacidade. (Art. 32)
Employment Rights and Protection
- English1. Everyone shall have the right to work.
2. The duty to engage in work shall be inseparable from the right to work.
3. It shall be incumbent upon the State to ensure equality of opportunity in the choice of profession or type of work and conditions so that access is not blocked or limited as a function of sex, access to any position, work or professional categories.
4. The right to exercise liberal professions shall be guaranteed on the conditions provided for by the law. (Art. 42) - Portuguese1. Todos têm direito ao trabalho.
2. O dever de trabalhar é inseparável do direito ao trabalho.
3. Incumbe ao Estado assegurar a igualdade de oportunidades na escolha da profissão ou género de trabalho e condições para que não seja vedado ou limitado, em função do sexo, o acesso a quaisquer cargos, trabalho ou categorias profissionais.
4. É garantido o direito ao exercício de profissões liberais nas condições previstas na lei. (Art. 42)

- EnglishAll workers shall have the right:
a) To remuneration for work, according to the quantity, nature and quality, where the principle of equal pay for equal work is observed so as to guarantee a dignified existence;

c) To the organization of work under socially dignifying conditions so as to provide personal fulfillment;
d) To being able to perform their work under hygienic and safe conditions;
e) To a maximum limit to the work day, to weekly rest and to periodic paid holidays;

a) A retribuição do trabalho, segundo a quantidade, natureza e qualidade, observando-se o princípio de que para trabalho igual salário igual, de forma a garantir uma existência condigna;

c) A organização do trabalho em condições socialmente dignificantes, de forma a facultar a realização pessoal;
d) A prestação do trabalho em condições de higiene e segurança;
e) A um limite máximo da jornada de trabalho, ao descanso semanal e a férias periódicas pagas;
