    The representative assembly of the Republic of Senegal has [porte] the name of [the] National Assembly. It exercises the Legislative Power. It votes, alone, the laws, controls the action of the Government and evaluates the public policies.

    The Deputies are elected by universal direct suffrage.

    An organic law establishes the number of members of the National Assembly, their indemnities, the conditions of eligibility, [and] the regime of the ineligibilities and of the incompatibilities. (Art. 59)

    L'Assembl~e representative de la Republique du Senegal porte le nom d'Assemblee nationale. Elle exerce le pouvoir legislatif. Elle vote, seule, la loi, contrdle l'action du Gouvernement et evalue les politiques publiques.

    Les députés sont élus au suffrage universel direct.

    Une loi organique fixe le nombre des membres de l’Assemblée nationale, leurs indemnités, les conditions d’éligibilité, le régime des inéligibilités et des incompatibilités. (Art. 59)
