National Human Rights Bodies
- EnglishThe Human Rights Commission oversees respect for, and promotion of, human freedoms and rights, and makes proposals to develop the human rights system. It must be consulted on draft laws that fall within the domain of its mandate.
The Commission conducts investigations into violations of human rights with a view to resolving them or referring them to the competent authorities.
The Commission shall be composed of independent and impartial members with competence and integrity. They undertake their functions for a single six-year term. (Art. 128) - Arabicتراقب هيئة حقوق الإنسان احترام الحريات وحقوق الإنسان، وتعمل على تعزيزها، وتقترح ما تراه لتطوير منظومة حقوق الإنسان، وتستشار وجوبا في مشاريع القوانين المتصلة بمجال اختصاصها.
تحقّق الهيئة في حالات انتهاك حقوق الإنسان لتسويتها أو إحالتها على الجهات المعنية.
تتكون الهيئة من أعضاء مستقلين محايدين من ذوي الكفاءة والنزاهة، يباشرون مهامهم لفترة واحدة، مدتها ستّ سنوات. (الفصل 128) - FrenchL’Instance des droits de l’Homme contrôle le respect des libertés et des droits de l’Homme et œuvre à leur renforcement; elle formule des propositions en vue du développement du système des droits de l’Homme. Elle est obligatoirement consultée sur les projets de loi se rapportant à son domaine de compétence.
L’Instance enquête sur les cas de violation des droits de l’Homme, en vue de les régler ou de les soumettre aux autorités compétentes.
L’Instance est composée de membres indépendants, neutres, choisis parmi les personnes compétentes et intègres qui exercent leurs missions pour un seul mandat de six ans. (Art. 128)
