    The family is the fundamental nucleus of society.

    It is the duty of the State to safeguard the national security, to provide protection for the people and the family, to promote the strengthening of the latter, to further the harmonious integration of all the sectors of the Nation and to ensure the right of persons to participate with equality of opportunities in the national life. (Art. 1)

    La familia es el núcleo fundamental de la sociedad.

    Es deber del Estado resguardar la seguridad nacional, dar protección a la población y a la familia, propender al fortalecimiento de ésta, promover la integración armónica de todos los sectores de la Nación y asegurar el derecho de las personas a participar con igualdad de oportunidades en la vida nacional. (Art. 1)
