    The Executive Power is exercised by the President of the Republic. (Art. 226)

    To be President of the Republic or Vice President, it is required:
    1. to have natural Paraguayan nationality;
    2. to be already thirty years old, and
    3. to be in full exercise of their civil and political rights. (Art. 228)
  • Spanish
    Para ser Presidente de la República o Vicepresidente se requiere:
    1. tener nacionalidad paraguaya natural;
    2. haber cumplido treinta y cinco años, y
    3. estar en pleno ejercicio de sus derechos civiles y políticos. (Art. 228)

    The President of the Republic and the Vice President will be elected jointly and directly by the People, by simple majority of votes, in general elections realized between ninety and one hundred and twenty days before the expiration of the constitutional period in force. (Art. 230)
  • Spanish
    El Presidente de la República y el Vicepresidente serán elegidos conjunta y directamente por el pueblo, por mayoría simple de votos, en comicios generales que se realizarán entre noventa y ciento veinte días antes de expirar el período constitucional vigente. (Art. 230)
