    The State shall devote special attention to education and schooling. Education and schooling shall be designed and administered so that, through the cooperation of family, school and church, the members of the younger generation are endowed with religious and moral learning, patriotic attitudes, and skills for their future occupations. (Art. 15)

    Der Staat wendet seine besondere Sorgfalt dem Erziehungs- und Bildungswesen zu. Dieses ist so einzurichten und zu verwalten, dass aus dem Zusammenwirken von Familie, Schule und Kirche der heranwachsenden Jugend eine religiös-sittliche Bildung, vaterländische Gesinnung und künftige berufliche Tüchtigkeit zu eigen wird.     1) The entire system of education and instruction shall be under the supervision of the State, without prejudice to the inviolability of church teachings.
    2) Education shall be universal and compulsory.
    3) The State shall ensure that adequate compulsory instruction in the elementary subjects is given free of charge in public schools.

    5) Nobody shall allow young persons in their charge to leave school without the degree of schooling prescribed for public elementary schools.

    1) Das gesamte Erziehungs- und Unterrichtswesen steht, unbeschadet der Unantastbarkeit der kirchlichen Lehre, unter staatlicher Aufsicht.
    2) Es besteht allgemeine Schulpflicht.
    3) Der Staat sorgt dafür, dass der obligatorische Unterricht in den Elementarfächern in genügendem Ausmass in öffentlichen Schulen unentgeltlich erteilt wird.

    5) Niemand darf die unter seiner Aufsicht stehende Jugend ohne den für die öffentlichen Elementarschulen vorgeschriebenen Grad von Unterricht lassen.

    1) The State shall support and promote instruction and schooling.
    2) It shall provide appropriate stipends to help talented students without financial means attend institutes of higher education. (Art. 17)

    1) Der Staat unterstützt und fördert das Unterrichts- und Bildungswesen.
    2) Er wird unbemittelten, gut veranlagten Schülern den Besuch höherer Schulen durch Gewährung von angemessenen Stipendien erleichtern. (Art. 17)

The term 'Landesangehörige' (Liechtenstein citizens) employed by the Constitution is to be understood as referring to all persons holding Liechtenstein national citizenship without distinction of sex. (LGBl 1971 No. 22)
