- EnglishFirst: The State shall guarantee to the individual and the family – especially children and women – social and health security, the basic requirements for living a free and decent life, and shall secure for them suitable income and appropriate housing.
Second: The State shall guarantee social and health security to Iraqis in cases of old age, sickness, employment disability, homelessness, orphanhood, or unemployment, shall work to protect them from ignorance, fear and poverty, and shall provide them housing and special programs of care and rehabilitation, and this shall be regulated by law. (Art. 30) - Arabicأولاً :ـ تكفل الدولة للفرد وللأسرة ـ وبخاصة الطفل والمرأة ـ الضمان الاجتماعي والصحي، والمقومات الأساسية للعيش في حياةٍ حرةٍ كريمة، تؤمن لهم الدخل المناسب، والسكن الملائم.
ثانياً :ـ تكفل الدولة الضمان الاجتماعي و الصحي للعراقيين في حال الشيخوخة أو المرض أو العجز عن العمل أو التشرد أو اليتم أو البطالة، وتعمل على وقايتهم من الجهل والخوف والفاقة، وتوفر لهم السكن والمناهج الخاصة لتأهيلهم والعناية بهم، وينظم ذلك بقانون. (المادة 30)

- EnglishThe family, founded on the legal ties of marriage, is the basic unit [cellule] of society.
The State works to guarantee, by the law, the protection of the family under the juridical, social and economic plans, in a manner to guarantee its unity, its stability and its preservation.
It assures one equal juridical protection and one equal social and moral consideration to all children, [being the] abstraction made from their familial situation.
Fundamental instruction [enseignement] is a right of the child and an obligation of the family and of the State.
A Consultative Council of the Family and of Childhood [Conseil consultatif de la famille et de l'enfance] is created. (Art. 32) - Arabicالأسرة القائمة على علاقة الزواج الشرعي هي الخلية الأساسية للمجتمع.

- EnglishThe family is the basis of the society. A Qatari family is founded on religion, ethics, and patriotism. The law shall regulate adequate means to protect the family, support its structure, strengthen its ties, and protect maternity, childhood, and old age. (Art. 21)
