- EnglishThe judicial power is exercised in Chad by the Supreme Court, the Courts of Appeal, the High Military Court, the tribunals and the justices of the peace.

The laws prior to the Constitution must be modified, if it applies, to render them in conformity with the constitutional rights and freedoms within a time period not exceeding three years counting from the date of promulgation of this Constitutional Law.
In case that the modifications provided for in the preceding paragraph are not adopted [apportées] in the prescribed times, any individual can refer [déférer] these laws to the Constitutional Council for examination of their constitutionality. Les lois antérieures à la Constitution doivent être modifiées, s’il y a lieu, pour les rendre conformes aux droits et libertés constitutionnels, dans un délai n’excédant pas trois (3) ans pour compter de la date de promulgation de la présente loi constitutionnelle.
Au cas où les modifications prévues à l'alinéa précédent ne sont pas apportées dans les délais prescrits, tout individu pourra déférer ces lois au Conseil constitutionnel pour examen de leur constitutionnalité. Les dispositions déclarées inconstitutionnelles ne peuvent être appliquées. (Art. 102)

- EnglishAny violation of any personal freedom, of the sanctity of the private life of human beings, or of any of the rights or liberties that have been guaranteed by law or by this Basic Law shall be considered a crime. Criminal and civil cases resulting from such violations may not be subject to any statute of limitations. The National Authority shall guarantee a fair remedy to those who suffer from such damage. (Art. 32)

All citizens have the right to present to the administration, individually or collectively, petitions in order to present questions of general interest or infringements to their fundamental rights.
The concerned administration must inform the petitioners, within a reasonable time period, of the response committed [suites réservées] to their demands. (Art. 77) - Arabic
لكل مواطن الحق في تقديم ملتمسات إلى الإدارة، بشكل فردي أو جماعي، لطرح انشغالات تتعلق بالمصلحة العامة أو بتصرفات ماسة بحقوقه الأساسية.
يتعيّن على الإدارة المعنية الرد على الملتمسات في أجل معقول (المــادة 77) - French
Tout citoyen a le droit de présenter à l’administration, individuellement ou collectivement, des pétitions aux fins d’exposer des questions d’intérêt général ou des atteintes à ses droits fondamentaux.
L’administration concernée doit informer les pétitionnaires, dans un délai raisonnable, des suites réservées à leurs demandes. (Art. 77)
