- EnglishCivil Courts in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan shall have the right to exercise jurisdiction over all persons in all civil and criminal matters, including cases filed by the Government or filed against it, with exception of the matters in respect of which jurisdiction is vested in Religious Courts or Special Courts in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution or any other legislation in force. - EnglishFirst: Islam is the official religion of the State and is a foundation source of legislation:
A. No law may be enacted that contradicts the established provisions of Islam.
B. No law may be enacted that contradicts the principles of democracy.
C. No law may be enacted that contradicts the rights and basic freedoms stipulated in this Constitution.
Second: This Constitution guarantees the Islamic identity of the majority of the Iraqi people and guarantees the full religious rights to freedom of religious belief and practice of all individuals such as Christians, Yazidis, and Mandean Sabeans. (Art. 2) - Arabicاولاً :ـ الاسلام دين الدولة الرسمي، وهو مصدرٌ اساس للتشريع:
أ ـ لا يجوز سن قانونٍ يتعارض مع ثوابت احكام الاسلام.

A High Islamic Council is a consultative organ along side [auprès] the President of the Republic. It is responsible notably:
– for encouraging and promoting Ijtihad;
– to provide its opinion with regard to the religious prescriptions concerning what is submitted to it;

Le Haut Conseil Islamique est un organe consultatif placé auprès du Président de la République. Il est chargé notamment:

— d'émettre son avis au regard des prescriptions religieuses sur ce qui lui est soumis;
