Electoral Bodies
- English(a) There shall be an Elections Commission of the Maldives.
(b) The Elections Commission is an independent and impartial institution. It shall exercise its duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Constitution and laws enacted by the People’s Majlis.
(c) The Elections Commission shall function as provided by the statute governing the Elections Commission. Such statute shall specify the responsibilities, powers, mandate, qualifications, and ethical standards of members. (Art. 167) - Dhivehi(ހ) ދިވެހިރާއްޖޭގައި އިލެކްޝަން ކޮމިޝަނެއް އޮންނަންވާނެއެވެ.
(ށ) އިލެކްޝަން ކޮމިޝަނަކީ ވަކިފަރާތަކަށް ބުރަނުވާ، މުސްތަޤިއްލު މުއައްސަސާއެކެވެ. އަދި އެ ކޮމިޝަނުގެ ވާޖިބުތަކާއި މަސްއޫލިއްޔަތުތައް އަދާކުރަންވާނީ ޤާނޫނުއަސާސީ އާއި ރައްޔިތުންގެ މަޖިލީހުން ފާސްކުރާ ޤާނޫނާ އެއްގޮތްވާ ގޮތުގެމަތީނެވެ.
(ނ) އިލެކްޝަން ކޮމިޝަން ހިންޤާނީ އިލެކްޝަން ކޮމިޝަނުގެ ޤާނޫނުގައި ބަޔާންވެގެންވާ ގޮތުގެމަތީންނެވެ. އެ ޤާނޫނުގައި، އެ ކޮމިޝަނުގެ މަސައްކަތުގެ ދާއިރާއާއި، އެ ކޮމިޝަނުގެ މެންބަރުން ކިބައިގައި ހުންނަންވާނޭ ޝަރުތުތަކާއި، ސުލޫކީ މިންގަޑުތައް ކަނޑައެޅިފައި އޮންނަންވާނެއެވެ. To organize and hold the elections of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, of the representative bodies of state power of regions, districts, cities, as well as a referendum of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Central Election Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan shall be formed by the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the main principles of activity of which shall be independence, legality, collective nature, publicity and fairness.

The Independent National Electoral Commission is responsible for the organization of the electoral process, notably of the registration of the electors, of the maintenance of the electoral list [fichier électoral], the operations of the vote, of the counting and of any referendum.
It assures the regularity of the electoral and referendum process.
An organic law establishes the organization and the functioning of the Independent National Electoral Commission. (Art. 211) - FrenchIl est institué une Commission électorale nationale indépendante dotée de la personnalité juridique.
La Commission électorale nationale indépendante est chargée de l’organisation du processus électoral, notamment de l’enrôlement des électeurs, de la tenue du fichier électoral, des opérations de vote, de dépouillement et de tout référendum.

- English1. The Electoral Commission shall exercise such functions in relation to elections as are conferred upon it by this Constitution or by an Act of Parliament.
2. The duties and functions of the Electoral Commission shall include—
a. to determine constituency boundaries impartially on the oasis of ensuring that constituencies contain approximately equal numbers of voters eligible to register, subject only to considerations of—
i. population density;
ii. ease of communication; and
iii. geographical features and existing administrative areas;
b. to review existing constituency boundaries at intervals of not more than five years and alter them in accordance with the principles laid down in subsection (2) (a);
c. to determine electoral petitions and complaints related to the conduct of any elections;
d. to ensure compliance with the provisions of this Constitution and any Act of Parliament; and
e. to perform such other functions as may be prescribed by this Constitution or an Act of Parliament.

The administrative, technical and logistical acts and procedures correspond to the National Electoral Council and the jurisdictional acts and procedures in electoral matters correspond in an exclusive manner to the Tribunal of Electoral Justice with jurisdiction and competence established by the Law.
