Beside the other attributions which are expressly conferred on it by other provisions of the Constitution, the Constitutional Court decides by an decision on the constitutionality of the treaties, the laws and the regulations.
The Constitutional Court may be referred to [the matter] of the constitutionality of the treaties before their ratification, and of the laws before their promulgation.

Duly approved or ratified international treaties and agreements shall come into force in the Angolan legal system after they have been officially published and have entered into force in the international legal system, for as long as they are internationally binding upon the Angolan state. - EnglishIf the Supreme Court, referred to [the matter] by the President of the Republic or by the President of the National Assembly, has declared that an international engagement contains a clause contrary to the Constitution, the authorization of ratification may only intervene after the revision of the Constitution. - EnglishThe treaties of Peace, of union, the treaties of commerce, the treaties or agreements concerning the international organization, those which engage the finances of the State, those which modify the provisions of a legislative nature, those that concern the status of the persons, and the treaties concerning the frontiers of the State, may only be ratified by virtue of a law.
They only take effect after being ratified or approved.
