Status of International Law
- EnglishAll persons have the right to the recourse of habeas corpus to guarantee their personal freedom and integrity, and to the recourse of amparo to maintain or reestablish the enjoyment of the other rights consecrated in this Constitution, as well as those of a fundamental character established in the international instruments concerning human rights, applicable in the Republic. Both recourses will be of the competence of the Chamber indicated in Article 10. (Art. 48)

- EnglishThe treaties in which constitutional provisions are restricted or affected in any manner may not be ratified, unless the ratification is conducted with the corresponding reservations. The provisions of the treaty concerning which the reservations are made are not law of the Republic. (Art. 145)

- EnglishWhen an International Treaty affects a constitutional provision, it must be approved by the procedure that governs the reform of the Constitution, simultaneously the constitutional precept affected must be modified in the same sense by the same procedure before the Treaty being ratified by the Executive Power. - EnglishThis Constitution, the laws of the Congress of the Union that emanate from it, and all the Treaties that are in accord with them, celebrated and that are celebrated by the President of the Republic, with the approval of the Senate, will be the Supreme Law of all of the Union.
